NEW DELHI: Showing utter disrespect towards the Indian cricket team, a Bangladeshi newspaper has produced a fake 'cutter' advertisement, in which seven Indian cricketers are seen standing with their heads half-shaven.

India had lost the three-match series 1-2 to give Bangladesh a historic bilateral series victory, following which certain sections of the Bangladesh media went all out and celebrated the win. But the photograph that emerged on June 29 in a national daily called Prothom Alo, holds the entire issue in a bad taste.

Bangladesh's leading national daily Prothom Alo came up with this shameful ad on Monday

Young Bangladeshi paceman Mustafizur Rahman, who tormented the Indian players in the ODI series, is shown endorsing a cutter - symbolising his 'offcutters' - and the Indian players are holding a banner which reads, 'We have used it. You can use it too'.

Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Shikhar Dhawan and R Ashwin are shown standing with the banner with their heads half-shaven. Half-shaven heads are traditionally considered to be a sign of humiliation and an ad like this might strain the relationship between the two cricket boards.

. . .
Even though i was happy that bangladesh was finally winning against big teams now i think i did the wrong thing! They are still minnows and they should know this 2 series wins dont make you a great cricket team! They should remember how much they were being dominated by both pakistan and india before these series. Respect the bigger teams even when you beat them and only then would you make a good impression on the cricketing world

.
So its now proved.. Mutur fitur does not belong to Martial Race but a Barber (NAI )suffering a broken Rib

.
the taste seems bad, but hey, Bdeshis are having the time of their lives. let them enjoy.
they have to face india again . and then, history will rewrite again.

They won because the Indian team was lazy and were playing half heartedly

This series was held at the end of a LONG season

We have been playing cricket for several months now

Australian series ; World cup and then IPL

Once we lost two games it was only then we woke up

Bangladesh should not think that they are a superior team

Exactly! One series win after losing so many does not make you a superior team! If they acted maturely after the win then things would have been different. Dont forget they couldnt win the test series against both pakistan or india. I have a question you said india were lazy but that shouldnt be an exchse they are professionals representing their country. If they were lazy they should have refused to play or could have moved the series a bit later?

BCCI made a committment of sending the Best team

They knew the team was tired and they could loose

But the relations between Cricket boards are also important

And the cricketing calender is already full for the next year

So the time for this series had to be somehow squeezed from the calender

In The Test match between India and Bangladesh we did well

The one day matches can be easily lost in a space of few overs

You lack the intensity and concentration for a little while ; you loose the game

What goes around, comes around.
Remember the Indian Pepsi ad taking a dig on the Pakistani team.
Now minnows paying back India in same coin.

We dont mind it at all

We still have a BETTER overall record against Bangladesh
26 WINS ; FIVE losses out of 32 games ; one game no result

@Windjammer

As far as the Pepsi Ad was concerned it was justified
given our record against Pakistan in the world cup

It was FIVE - NIL before the 2015 World cup
Now it is SIX - NIL

You can expect similar Advertisements before and during the 2019 World cup also

This is really bad if you disrespect big teams. Hats off to you Bangladesh that you have won the series against big teams. But you are not wining hearts by doing this immature act. Grow up Bangladesh!!! Now you are 44 years old.

Small things amuse little minds..... such ads may sail your boat you will seldom see others indulging in such cheap slander......as for next time, who knows, you may see an ad of Indian players with heads completely shaven.
