Ha ha I don't have any so can't say.

But I had some EMO friends who used to sport them back in college.

Studs are supposed to be made of surgical stainless steel so no chance of infection. Plus the hole is made using standard hygienic piercing technique I heard.

Pakistan (Sialkot) understandably is a big manufacturing center for this type of item.
