Bangladeshi company PRAN to invest $15 billion in India

10 m sounds reasonable. 80B is bangladesh GDP for reference.

You living in the 90s, the nominal GDP for Bangladesh is over $150bn and growing over 6% yearly, infact the growth rate is above indias this year and prob for next couple of years. Pran-RFL group, has sales of only around $2bn, so its probably only investing $15-20m in this venture, some stupid jurno can do basic maths.

.
15 billion taka = $215 million, even that is huge sum to invest over an area of one acre.:undecided:

Now, forget about mistakes of these layman news reporters. The investment is certainly $15 million. Better we talk about the content of news and not the mistakes in it.

Well Pran is penetrating Indian market successfully. All the best to Pran.

Bangali don't have any control over them. Recently govt. lifted the ban on investment and they started their taka urano khela . IFIC recently bought a Nepalese bank which almost never made profit. Pran pouring this money in risk, india is never dependable for Bangladeshi business guys, anytime any deception may happen. They should look for good country, good people. I think they'll once do it after having some lessons there at the beginning.

.
Many BD companies like Rahim-Afroz had to face enforced barriers to enter Indian market. But Pran has an advantage. Its owner Maj Gen Amjad Choudhuri is a Qadyini who maintain a powerful lobby in India. The Gen is a major financier in various Qadyiani related projects in LA, whose Mayor comes to receive him at the airport.

.
If the news has any credentials then the amount must be 10billion in BD currency and not the US $.

Pran does business in over 70 countries. So it's obvious they will look for growing a business in India. And I think India will be familiar this time. If not it's their loss.

The report is like three years old. And $15 BILLION? Another victory for our ever more original journalists.

IFIC made many unprofitable ventures. They used to operate in Pakistan as well.

Most of Pran's foods taste like crap anyways with God knows what they put in them

By the way, never ever drink their mango juice. EVER.

Pran was good back in the day, but now.....not as great.

.
so did pran actually invest? @Roybot

They did invest. But not $15 billion (LMAO). Most of their production operations are outsourced to other manufacturers, both in BD and abroad.
