Bangladeshi 4 peacekeepers killed in bomb blasts in Mali

Four Bangladeshi soldiers of the United Nations peacekeeping force were killed in bomb blasts in Africa's Mali. Three others were injured in the incident. The blasts occurred during Bangladesh time on Wednesday night.
The deceased are Warrant Officer Abul Kalam, Pirojpur (37 AD Regis. RT), Lance Corporator Akhtar, Mymensingh (9 Field Rez. RT), Sainik Raihan, Pabna (32 eb), Sainik (Pakkhi) Jamal, Chapainawabganj (32 Eb ).
The injured were Corporal Russell, Naogaon (32 Eb), Sainik Akram, Rajbari (32 Eb), Sainik Newton, Jessore (17 Bir), Sainik Rashed, Kurigram (32 eb).
UN mission officials said the casualties occurred when a bomb exploded on the roadside while guarding a convoy of the peacekeeping force in Bani city of Mali region.

On a more practical note - the govt. should give them IED and bomb-proof patrol vehicles (MRAP). Needless loss of life cannot be tolerated when a remedy is clearly available.

So many lives lost within few months. Gov. should take Mali Mission more gravely (should authorise use of deadly force and attack before being attacked). It's way different than the missions in Congo, Ivory Coast, South Sudan etc. For that our Troops are very respected by all parties in these countries, including the rebel groups. As our policy of peaceful dialogue & constructive approach to the problem has earned respect among the populace, now no rebell militia would think of going into direct hostilities against our troops.

But Mali is entirely different. These Imlamist luns only lives for killing and making everyone else miserable.

Gov. should fast track LAV and MRAP procurement (try to faster the delivery) and if needed lease or request FMA from US in the meantime to ensure the safety of our troops.

first of all they are not under BD gov or military command
second they are on peace mission for aggressive mission world has NATO and USA to bomb them .poor BD military have no such resources to be wasted in mali .and last i feel sorry for human lives been lose . RIP

Yes, but Gov. can always put the matter in front of UN. And in case of Mali other members might support that notion. There was such a proposal just last month, many member states were pushing hard for the proposal but as always our gov. shied away from supporting it. So you might understand which point I am coming from.

And Mali isn't the usual kind of Peace operation undertaken by UN before. There is an on going extremist militancy going on.

i got it simple sir BD send solders on UN request . all BD cn do pull back his solders now . but making policy and deciding what to do will be not in BD hands . lets be honest here .
