PS I can't speak for India but Pakistan has hosted twice as many refugees for years and their economy is in a much worse shape than BD, as you know.

Those were afgans from Afghanistan; a war torn country and they didn't swarm into your country over night, it happened over time.


We were on the recieving end of 800,000 in the span of a few weeks, all squeezed into a small part of Bangladesh; Bangladesh which is very very small compared to Pakistan.




Economy doesn't matter, we are ahead of pakistan sure, but we aren't rich enough to sustain the burden of million+ refugees.


You'd think landmass doesn't matter, but it does.



They're already dealing drugs, shooting stuff up, killing locals including politicians.... How long until they start with Terrorism ?

I can't fault you for that but I don't agree with the reasoning that 'if others are doing it we should do it too' that's all. But I'm not too familiar with Rohingya situation to comment on the other points.

The UN doesn't pay for crap, the GoB is spending millions on the Rohingya from its own coffers and tax payers like me are bearing those costs.

We should let homeless Bangladeshis live there, Rohingyas don't deserve such nice houses while our people stay homeless.

We will let them live here after Rohingyas return to Myanmar.

They are our refuge and our Muslim brothers ,so we have some duty to them too.

Besides they are human being like us . We can't be hostile towards them . If some of them are doing bad ,it's not entirely their fault .

We have to crush them( anti Bangladeshi entity) who tried to agitate Rohingyas.

We must have to provide them some livelihood,and bhasan char is ready to provide them livelihood too.

And they became refuge because we opened our border .

So before we can send peacefully to their own country , it's our duty to treat them well and we are trying to do so.

For homeless people,our govt easily can choose other project.

At least the looted relief money during corronavirus time only would be more than enough to do something better for a good portion of our homeless people.

We had lots of Rohingyas in the late 70s and 80s, no one knew about the Burmese Muslims, they received little attention until 2009 where "Ummah" came into effect, which I don't deplore however certain sections quickly blamed Bangladesh for turning many of them away, which is of course wrong on a humanitarian level, however this section didn't research into whom or where the Rohingya actually came from but the fingers stopped pointing once they realized BD has been a safe haven for Rohingyas for a long time.

Rohingyas are living in slum-like conditions in and near Cox's Bazaar. Yet, the Westerners at the behest of America do not want their relocation to new settlements in Bhashan Char. Facilities are very very good that will cause envy to many of our own population.

USA probably wants to make an inroad to MM, how I do not know for sure, by giving lip service to the issue. It may be possible that the USA will send money and operatives to radicalize Rohingyas, and then America, the savior, comes to fight these terrorists.

This kind of stupid politics is going all over the ME, all by America. Think of ISIS. It was created by Israel and America. It wants to test many new weapons and also wants to destroy other old weapons by overusing them or by supplying these to the fanatics in a conflict.

It's the NGOs who don't want the Rohingyas to go to Bhasan Char because it would reduce their profitability.

The NGO jobs in Cox's Bazaar are like golden goose. After the Rohingyas landed in Bangladesh these NGOs and their staffs became rich and they don't want to lose their profitability.

If you are an aid worker in the Cox's bazaar refugee camp, you will earn around 50k to 2 lakh depending on your experience and expertise. For a young Bangladeshi man/woman, 50k is a lot especially if you are living in Cox's bazaar.
