Bangladesh to spend $6.17 bln on oil imports

^^You build your dam in an earthquake prone zone,
we build a crappy reactor just beside WB. If the day
comes all will bite the dust!

I would not like to comment on this.

However, it does remind me of the English proverb - Cutting the nose to spite the face!

Notwithstanding, none can stop Bangladesh to have a nuclear reactor anywhere including Dacca itself!

I, for one, would object if India plans a nuclear reactor in any of our earthquake prone zones.

Personally I don't support the idea of reactors in BD either
but for the sake of science.

Had a friend of mine, nuclear physicist
who woks in canada, always dreamt about contributing here.

Guess its time for some of them to come back.

From a Bangladesh site.

Barishal looks like a good place to set up the nuclear reactor:whistle:

Oil for Power plants???? One would think they'd go for coal fired plants. That way the financial success of the plant does not rely precariously on global oil prices!!
Don't know about nuclear power plants. Isn't Bangladesh prone to floods and Cyclones??? Earthquake proof reactors are possible (eg.Japan) but floods and Cyclones in the Bay of Bengal is a whole different ball game.

This Bangladesh section needs to changed to Bangladesh Current affairs.

As this is what is discussed here all the time.

I heard BD has considerable gas reserves. Why cant't BD use them to produce electricity.
