Bangladesh to receive final surplus UK C-130J airlifter in March

Retire the Migs.....

1 sqd Eurofighter (16)

2 sqd F-10CE (32)

2 sqd F-7BG/BGI (31)

2 sqd Yak-130 (13-?)

Not bad......
IAF is still operating Mig-21 and should we then retire Mig-29? We are neither USA nor UK that we immediately dispose of old military goodies so easily. I heard that the Texas desert has hundreds or thousands of such things, rotting under the Sun.

After all, it is Uncle Sam/Trump!! Sometimes, the USA chooses to attack another country, especially the rogue Muslim ones, to dispose of the oldies. It is like killing two birds with one stone.

What will Bangladesh use them for? To transport palla fish?
Sometimes you people sound like repressed little girls. I’m Bangladeshi and don’t know what palla fishes are. You sure you don’t eat fish

I have just done a rough calculation about how much it would cost for 16 Euro-fighters and it works out to be 4.5 billion US dollars, by using the roughly 6.6 billion US dollar deal for 24 Qatari Euro-fighters back in 2018.
1.4 billion dollars for 16 pops... nothing included brand new

Euro-fighter still has 28(Kuwait) + 24(Qatar) orders and so there is many more years of production left
Till 2024 when Kuwait deliveries will be completed.
I expected you to be more positive since you always have a positive attitude to defense spending increment with relation to the economy.

While the bombers are actually salvageable. The fighters are usually stressed out airframes from carrier operations.

You cannot operate Eurofighters without infrastructure, maintenance, missiles and training.
Yes BD defence spending will probably grow to 7-8 billion US dollars in today’s money by 2025 when deliveries would complete but this is too much money out of the BD defence budget.
Remember BN needs many billions of US dollars for it’s next- gen frigate programme this decade
and it is the most important service due to BD geopolitical environment.

Does EFT need climate controlled hangers or can they be in a outdoor hangar like f35/f16s etc
Because many airbases have undergone infrastructure making work and some are ongoing
@mb444 was talking about the training I believe for pilots and maintenance crew

you need the correct infrastructure as otherwise the planes will be damaged and/or need more maintenance.
Also, you aware how expensive that Eurofighter is to operate due to 2 engines?
Even India turned down the Eurofighter due to cost and they have defence budget 10x as much and only brought 36 cheaper Rafales so far.
We need to face the fact that BD cannot afford this plane.

Indians actually fucked it up with rafale, they chose it purely for political reasons, bribery in their defense purchase is nothing new it’s not less to maintain that. Much much more imo
Dekhi ki hoi.

Well you are right, Rafale was a shitty overpriced purchase but they do have the experience to maintain it. Su-30MKI alone is probably at least as hard to maintain as Rafale. F-7 can not compare to EFT and will takes years for BD to get used to.

2 sqd F-7BG/BGI (31)
I say they be replaced by FTC-2000G.
