Bangladesh will strongly raise her voice regarding Rohingya repatriation at the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly so that Myanmar remains under continued global pressure to take back their citizens.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said this today while briefing reporters about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s participation in the UNGA session that started yesterday.

Bangladesh will participate in various events as the host country to Rohingya refugees and the country will raise the Rohingya issue urging the international community to unite and mount more pressure on Myanmar to resolve the crisis, he said.

This year’s main theme of the general debate is, “Galvanizing multilateral efforts for poverty eradication, quality education, climate action and inclusion,” Momen said.

Bangladeshi delegates led by Sheikh Hasina will raise other issues like climate change, poverty eradication, quality education, women empowerment during the general debate, the minister said.

The premier is scheduled to leave Dhaka for New York on September 22 to participate in the general assembly, he said.

The high-level meetings and the general debate of the 74the session of the UNGA will be held from September 24-29, he added.

What support ? Bd should ready to welcome more 16 lakh asamis

I hope they raise concerns too about the hundreds of Hindu Rohingyas who were systematically exterminated by the ARSA.

And the slow genocide of the Chakma tribals getting killed daily in Shonar Bongal by state sponsored staged assassinations.

Nah, we will leave it to you...:D

Always remember, what we think today you will always think 1 week later (sometimes 1 month) ...

Lel. You are a bloke from a country where child gets gangraped, brutally murdered in a Mandir and general public including lawyers rally in support of those rapists because she was a Muslim. You should be last one talking about extremism! You are a hindu assamese too...

And, think about your country. That is becoming a real rapehole with huge gender imbalance. My so called overpopulated country is doing fine with better life expectancy than your so called suppa pawwa...

We will manage. We are Bengalis...

More like these monipuriya are known as a Hosuba (tramp) in Sylhet lol

Keep on thinking about new ways of sustaining the illiterate extremist, violence-prone Rohingyas in your already overpopulated country..

Spewing unsubstantiated nonsense about the Rohingya being extremist, what exactly have they done to you? They were a community advocating for their rights and systematically cleansed, frankly it is you the extremist who supports their massacre.

We don't like the way they peddle in drugs, weapons and other contrabands to our NE India by illegally infiltrating here. Newspapers here carry reports of illegal Rohingyas and Bangladeshis being caught trespassing on a regular basis.

Not only India, even Bangladesh is becoming increasingly tired of their extremist and violent activities, as a result you find news of Rohingyas being killed regularly in gunfights.

That doesn't justify ethnic cleansing.

That doesn't justify ethnic cleansing.

It seems in the ‘new India’ they don’t care if mass rapes occur and armed forces raze the little land of poor & destitute groups as long as they don’t like them.

In a few years Indian state will be checking the faith of the people in hospitals and police will not help crime victims in case they belong to a group they don’t like.

@Axomiya_lora

You really think the Rohingya wanted & choose to be sitting in densely populated squalid camps rather than being on their farms they tended for centuries?
