For the third consecutive time, Bangladesh is going to host the Asia Cup-2016. The tournament will be held from February 26 to march 6 next year.

Though the Asia Cup-2016 was supposed to be held in India, regarding the recent violence activities of Shiv Sena, the country’s extremist political organization, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) gave its consent to Bangladesh to organise the 13th edition of Asia Cup.

But the tournament will be taken place in a different format this year. Though it was a One Day tournament, for the first time it will be held in T-20 format.

. . . .
Good.. This will hurt business and business will hurt Schutzstaffel Sena.

. . .
Why not choose Sri Lanka then? Got nothing against Bangladesh but the same nation hosting a regional tournament a third consecutive time doesn't sound right

.
This has nothing to do with Shiv Sena, the T20 world cup starts jusy 5 days after the end of Asia cup, which is to be held in India. It would not be fair to host Asia cup and world T20 back to back.

At a meeting in Singapore on Tuesday, it was decided the Asia Cup will be held in Bangladesh for the third consecutive time. The five-nation regional tournament featuring the hosts, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and an Associate, will begin on February 24 and the final will be held on March 6. With the World T20 scheduled to begin five days later, the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup will be the first that includes Twenty20 contests as well.

"Pakistan raised the point that Bangladesh should host next year's Asia Cup and everyone agreed," BCB president Nazmul Hassan told reporters in Dhaka on Wednesday. "Four Test nations will get direct entry while one Associate nation will come through the qualifying tournament. We also discussed whether there can be more cricket at the Under-19 level between the Asian countries."

Afghanistan, Oman, Hong Kong and UAE, who will play host, will compete in the qualifying tournament to be held at the end of November. The previous two editions of the Asia Cup were held in Dhaka in 2012 and 2014. This will be the fifth time the tournament is being held in Bangladesh, having previously hosted in 1988 and 2000 too.

No mention of Inida being unsafe, or any threats from Shiv Sena in this article too.

.
So since india is unsafe they shift this puny tournament and allow india to host world cup where all major big nations participate ?
Stupidity of people on this thread is on full display.

.
I think Afghanistan should host it :D. Only we two (Afg and Pak) would play then and the odds are heavily in our favour haha.

.
Good chance for Bangladesh to win a major title at home.

is it 50 overs or 20-20 ?
