Bangladesh to buy supercomputer

The government has decided to buy a supercomputer for analyzing critical data, said Zunaid Ahmed Palak, state minister for ICT.

"If we have a suppercomputer we might avoid the flood in haor areas by analysis data much before the incident happened," said Palak.

The ICT division, in a meeting today, decided to buy a supercomputer, he said adding that the government will have it within a short time.

Currently, in any emergency people go to Malaysia, said Palak.

"We need to have this computer for the sake of digitisation, which will ultimately save our asset and money."

Awami minister for ICT who could not tell difference between 3G of good governance and 3G of telecom, can do jack with computer, let alone supercomputer. Awami league already looted 7-8 banks including Bangladesh Central Bank. Now awami league will use supercomputer to simulate breaking of bank vault lock. do BAL even know what to with super computer and what they are do they think its just a computer
look like they just want to make money as digital will help them to make new money in there pockets

supper computer are need to be secret and secured and the person or personal are top level the best skill.

the way BAL says Digital BD they need to recruit experts from with in BD and also freelancer who are BD also they knows the best. not those appointed in power of BAL they dont know a thing about it

Fun fact... we were supposed to have a supercomputer back in 2000s but after khaled a came to power she cancelled the order and we had to pay for it anyway... more than half its price. I don't know what model or how much.

I have no idea what we might purchase...the Chinese and Japanese have a couple priced much higher $200mil-$350mil.

He probably did 2-3 semesters of CS - altogether, I'd guess he's 'lost' 12-18 months max.
