Not it is open for everybody. But looks like more BD companies are in forefront in showing interest in getting allotment. A lot of joing venture coming along which is a good thing.

So, first build the 100 and then see if foreign companies come or not.

SEZ does not work that way. Alloting land and developing them goes simultaneously. For instance all Mirsarai land is already allocated long before it is completed.

A country's development is done by the people of that country. It seems expectations of Chetona guys like you are quite misplaced. No one really knows if enough companies will come to BD to be engulfed and burned with fire thrown by labor unions and no-work/less work nasty politics of BD people.

Demand is more than supply in BD SEZ.

About Japan. It was PM Abe whose UN politics caused BD to formulate the Matarbari (?) SEZ program.

Japanese are working in Matarbari power plant not SEZ. Japanese SEZ is in Dhaka as far as I remember.

But, it is the private Japanese companies that will have to come and invest. I have not seen the Japanese have shown any such interest towards a backward Bangladesh, although the GoB is sincere in its approach. Simply speaking, Japanese companies are not fond of BD.

Quite a few Japanese companies are already invested and many are in the pipeline. They wanted Garments sector to be open since long and currently that sector made open for Japanese.

The same is with all other countries' companies. However, I expect Chinese companies to come and invest. I always see them in the plane when I fly from Kunming. But, the Chinese will be producing mostly textile products, which is less value-added.

Chinese are already here with billions of dollar of proposal including Power Plant machineries manunfacturing, Steel mills etc.

Only insane poster like you will keep on talking about development by foreign investment instead of mobilizing BD's own capability. Cite the name of one country if you can.

BD's investment is dominated by local companies and not FDI which is a excellent thing to be celebrated.

So according to his @Species logic only American chain hotels like Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt so on and so forth are international and local Pakistani conglomerate running 5 star hotels like Avari's, Hashwnanis, Mansha's and add to this the Agha khanis are not international, even though the hotels have presence in other countries as well and all of them are 5 star as well.
