Bangladesh stands by India; slams Pakistan for statement that India interfered during 1971 crisis

.
CPEC is far bigger than a bunch of Mallus exchanging potatoes at the India-BD border.

We are aiming for connectivity with Iran, China, Russia, Turkey.

You be happy trying to connect with Bhutan.

Good Luck with that (no sarcasm intended).

A stable and prosperous Pakistan is good for India as then they would have more to loose in case of future conflicts hence would try to avoid it.

1. I only hope that you do realize that all Chinese led initiatives like CPEC etc in Pakistan is means for China to get connectivity to Europe and Central Asia via alternate routes.

2. Pakistan does not have enough demand to justify the cost of such infrastructure. This will lead you to total dependence on China, your foreign and economic policy will be subservient to China and in effect you would turn to a vasal state. If you don't have problem with that then no issues.

3. On the other hand India and Pakistan together has enough demand to satisfy all such connectivity independent of China. Add other SAARC countries and you can capitalize on your geographical location to become a economic powerhouse in your own right Independent of China. In addition to being hailed all across South Asia for bringing such development.

Too bad that due to all certain vested interests this would not happen.

Yo

You do realize that India is the second largest partner after China of course (~ 30% equity) in AIIB which is primary funding agency for Silk road initiative. In fact only major absentees are USA and JAPAN

Silk Road has lots of historical baggage.

Haseena govt is illegitimate, it doesn't speak for Bangladesh.

...but the majority of Pakistan formed in 1947 seceded from the minority, it is not difficult to understand what they speak for.

On topic, I really don't understand the stupidity of Pakistani politicians, including those in the government. Why Pakistan would want to bring 1971 up is beyond me, there is no way Pakistan can spin those events into any direction which will cause its image to look anything other than murderous. If they had even the least amount of common sense, they would have given this topic a wide berth and stayed firmly away from any discussion.

Bangladesh stands by India; slams Pakistan for statement that India interfered during 1971 crisis

NEW DELHI: Bangladesh on Wednesday came out strongly in India's support, slamming Pakistan for its statement that India interfered during the 1971 political crisis in East Pakistan.

The assertion came a day after Pakistan's foreign ministry issued a statement referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks during his Dhaka trip that India had supported Bangladesh's freedom movement. The ministry criticised Modi's "acknowledgement" of India's "involvement" in the 1971 war and said his statement confirmed India's negative role in the affairs of a sovereign neighbouring state.

Bangladesh stands by India; slams Pakistan for statement that India interfered during 1971 crisis - The Economic Times

---------------------------------------

Even apart from this political message, the Message by all of us - India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan - by virtue of signing multilateral agreements between ourselves that Pakistan blocked in SAARC and Pakistan out is clear - we don't want you. Get away.

So how is it standing with India on this statement? Is Hasena trying to eat those words which Modi uttered? Doesn't' matter what Bangladesh says now.. Indian PM has accepted its militants and their collaboration with terrorists in Bangladesh.

Good - Now let people of Bangladesh create new stories to tell their children as the old ones are busted by a tea boy.

The cpec has made India extremely hostile to an extent that it has lost control and has shown open hostilities against Pakistan and it seems the puppet regime of Bangladesh is following the puppet master as well. However despite all the kicking and uncontrolled flexing the cpec will go ahead and its time India shuts up and realizes its happening and makes peace with it.

I hope nobody from Pakistani political leadership pays heed to such remarks and don't respond in any kind.

Let the indian and BD govt create a momentarily noice. Thats what this BD visit Was about. A smear campaign against Pakistan. It will run out of steam by next week. But could drag on longer if we continue to respond back.

Play Taylor Swifts Shake It Off.

nepal and bangladesh:rofl::rofl::rofl:

The only trade with Nepal and Bangladesh would involve mercenary Gurkhas and illegal Bangladeshis whom the Saffron chaddis constantly complain against.

I said this in another thread that even Modi will retire but Pakistan will still be here, for 60+ years they have been dreaming of Pakistan's collapse yet Pakistan is still here, even their PM who was involved in breaking East Pakistan got gunned down by Sikhs, the founder of Bangladesh got gunned down by his own countrymen.

Sorry this is actually expression of mainstream BD population. Yes we have some issues with India that is another thing. Our agenda should be to prove that creation of Pure land was a mistake and illogical. For that India and BD should grow better relation and Indian Muslims should be treated better.

Indian Muslims are much better than yours.
Long live Indo - BD relation.

Congrats you now have connectivity with an already connected neighbour ... Bangladesh..
You need to understand the difference between geographically connected and economically connected.

India and Bangladesh are physically connected, yes, but there is a wide gulf in being able to create a common market in which goods, people, services and facilities can flow freely across.

The same problem is with Nepal and Bhutan.

This goes much beyond what Free Trade Agreement's are.

What you see now is the start of the process of making a common market between India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh. The people will be able to move across border's with ease, so will goods and services.

Indians will be able to go to NE India while crossing Bangladesh on road, while Bangladeshi trucks will be able to trade with not just NE India but also cross NE India to trade with Nepal and Bhutan and North Myanmar. We will all have a common electricity grid. We will all recognize each other's standardized testing norms and where they are different they will be made to converge. River highways will be established (like Rhine in Europe).
There are a dozen other such things.

An example - Bangladesh govt itself now holds equity in many of the power projects in India. Which means they have a stake in India. And instead of money, they are planning on carting away electricity to Bangladesh as the return from the projects.

Similarly, India has many projects running in Bangladesh, Myanmar and Nepal.
The only trade with Nepal and Bangladesh would involve mercenary Gurkhas and illegal Bangladeshis whom the Saffron chaddis constantly complain against.

This is the real start of creating a truly common South Asian market, much like EU created a common European Market.
