Bangladesh. Sri Lanka navies apprehends 69 Fishermen from TN

.
Actually Tamil Nadu fishermens were also had been caught by Pakistan Navy thrice or 4 times. Deep sea fishing bro..

Even then where is kanyakumari where is Culcutta???? That far going for fishing??? Even if they manage to catch some fish, they will have to travel 2 to 3 days to reach their place and then to shift the fish to market.....

They do not do their fishing in trawlers. But actually small ships which can hold supplies for one month. Its possible ji. Fishing resources have depleted in and around TN. THats y they have got to find new areas.

Majority of the time these fishermen deliberately cross into foreign EEZ to poach. Heavy fine is the way to go.

Or seize the boat and send back the fishermen.......

.
Are you mad? Fishermen get caught all over the world for same reason its not just Tamil Nadu or India.

But this thread is made for troll nothing else.

How is that trolling.. Making 101 threads about the same news is more trolling than this.. Get real

A heavy monetary fine should be a good deterrence, detaining the fishermen, in some cases for extended period of the time isn't going to stop them from doing it all over again the next time.

Detain the boats till the owner of the trawler pays up.

Atleast in SL they have a understanding with the Indian govt that poachers will be released within days but their boats will be confiscated owing legal procedure.. The fishermen are poor folk but the trawler owners are a crime cartel.. But then those politicians in Tamil Nadu who are in tow with these boat owners make a huge fuss over in TN to pressure the central govt.. But so far the SL govt had stood firm regarding the boats

I remember watching a TV talk show, in which Subramaniam swami was saying most of this boats are owned by TN politician........ and poor workers pay for their arrogance....

Yes they are.. Most are linked to the state govt and opposition in Tamil Nadu

I think some sort of a mechanism ought to evolve that spans South Asia to deal with this; we catch Indian Fishermen, they catch ours, you catch theirs etc. !

They have decimated Indian waters with illegal fishing methods like bottom trawling and saline fishing.. There are no Fish there.. So they have resorted to poach elsewhere

How does one deal with this then ? Clearly if they're doing it over and over again despite the imprisonments little else is gonna work !

It's the prerogative of the Indian govt and it's coast guard.. To prevent these poachers crossing the boundary.. And these are not a dozen or two boats but thousands!!!.. Just imagine the destruction they cause.. Only deterrent so far is to hold those boats in custody.. Atleast that way they are deprived of vessels to do the crime

On the contrary mate those caught are bottom trawlers highly destructive methods of fishing.. No country boats are apprehended atleast by the SL navy

Imagine this happening in Indian territorial waters by SL or Bangladeshi fishermen..

There was also a news about these fishermens poaching in SL coastal area are causing problems to poor SL tamils who have only non mechanised boat.
Look at the journey, from TN to Kolkata
One can imagine the the capacity of their boats.

What the???
PN arrested TN fishermens.

Dont you have trawling prohibitions like stuff?
Do they hunt fish during their reproduction time?

.
Bangladesh is very serious in protecting sea territory these days. So, stay out.

.
Bangladesh....whaaa? They go so far out for fishing?
I wonder whether they will say it is because GOI gave away Katchchatheevu. :)

I hope the indians at least now realise what sort of robbers these fellows are. I dont even call them fishermen.

I think some sort of a mechanism ought to evolve that spans South Asia to deal with this; we catch Indian Fishermen, they catch ours, you catch theirs etc. !
No plan would work with TN robbers in the sea. They do it deliberately, act victim while they are the wrong party. As long as the dravdian parties in TN will screamm for these robbers they will continue.

Are you mad? Fishermen get caught all over the world for same reason its not just Tamil Nadu or India.

But this thread is made for troll nothing else.

Really? If you read a newspaper just go and see how many times TN fellows cross IMBL in a year, almost daily. They treat SL norther sea as if theirs. No other country is stealing fish resource of another so openly.

A heavy monetary fine should be a good deterrence, detaining the fishermen, in some cases for extended period of the time isn't going to stop them from doing it all over again the next time.

yes, heavy monetary fine, like 5 lak indian rupees per one, detaining for 2 years and confiscating their boats.

Just dont give excuse for them.
To begin with TN politicians distributed boats among the fishermen community too much that it was unbearable for indian seas. What are you going to do when the fish resource in others' country was also finished? How would the other people live? What wil you do then? Cross the pacific?

If your resource is depleted, limit your fishermen.
How does one deal with this then ? Clearly if they're doing it over and over again despite the imprisonments little else is gonna work !
Imprisonment doesnt happen. They get caught. SL imprison them, TN politicians start dancing and their CM writing letters, Indian gov pressurise SL, then SL release them, they come to SL side again and the cycle continues.

HOLY SH**!
Anyway good find bro!

It is not a news man, it is a fact

This is what the Indian govt have to deal with regarding this issue..

PMK wants Centre to rein in Lanka on fishermen issue | Business Standard News

Party founder S Ramadoss said the latest incident of arrest had happened on Tuesday, on a day when Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa was in India for a personal visit even as Parliament was discussing the fishermen issue with the government responding to it.

"These are examples of how badly Sri Lanka treats India on the fishermen issue," he said in a statement.

The Rajapaksa government "should be taught a lesson" it can never forget in this matter, he said but took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for wishing a third Presidential term for the Lankan leader.

He also faulted the state government in its approach in the matter, saying both Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and his predecessor Jayalalithaa confined themselves to just writing letters and urged the former to personally take up the matter with Central government if it failed to warn Sri Lanka.

He said India should adopt 'shock treatment" tactics followed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and former Chief Minister of the state, M G Ramachandran, but did not elaborate.
