Bangladesh: South Asia's premier travel destination

Once the pandemic restrictions are eased, where would you like to go? Bangladesh is a good option. The South Asian nation, which is celebrating its 50th year of Independence, is considered a premier travel destination in South Asia.
World Bank has described it the "least touristy" spot, implying you can navigate the country without bumping into hordes of tourists. The country, which offers some stunning views and variety in terms of destinations, remains largely untapped in terms of tourism.

If you’re looking for beauty and tranquility, consider the following destinations in Bangladesh:

Man I need to see my own country. ****
After completion of these following infrastructure projects, Bangladesh will be a much more travel friendly country-

1.Dhaka metrorail, MRT-6
2. Chattogram-Cox's Bazar railway
3.Chattogram-Cox's Bazar 4 lane highway
4.Cox's Bazar international airport.
5.Sabrang, Sonadia and Naf tourism park in Cox's bazar.
6.Dhaka-Sylhet 6 lane highway.
7.Outer ring road, elevated expressway, Patenga tourist zone and Karnaphuli tunnel in Chattogram city.
8.Padma bridge

These mega-projects are expected to complete within 2-5 years. Each of these project will hugely facilitate moving around the country rapidly and comfortably and people will be able to get some entertainment at beaches.

The 3 tourism parks in Cox's Bazar and Patenga tourist zone will be the magnets to attract toursts. Only after these projects get completed, we can claim that Bangladesh has became a tourist destination.

Bangladesh is overshadowed by India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives in the region by tourism value as it is currently. I don't think we can become expect large number of foreign arrivals, like SEA countries like Malaysia, Thailand or even Vietnam, until we hit upper-middle to lower developed country level. The infrastructure will however definitely attract more foreigners than it currently does. However, we're going to have a vibrant tourism industry when we become developed, like for e.g., Korea which is now one of the most visited countries in the world, and wasn't even much talked about just 2 decades ago. Till then, we're going to see large increase in domestic tourism, which will probably play the biggest part in the industry till we're a high income country.

We should first and foremost provide the Bangladeshi people good travel destinations around the country. You can not imagine, how much the people in Bangladesh now crave for travel, even compared to 5 years ago. They are going to everywhere where there is a little resemblance of a tourist destination. Besides all the familiar tourist destinations, that are packed with domestic tourists, many are going to places where even 5 years ago, people would not consider them to be a tourist attraction. I read few days ago a news that, a certain village is receiving thousands of tourist everyday because those villagers planted sunflower, so much so that, the villagers had the sweet problem of maintaining their sunflower gardens. They never imagined something like that will ever happen. Similarly a village in Jashore known for Rose cultivation became a hot tourist destination. Thousands are going there despite lack of any tourism facilities. I would say, an explosion of tourism is awaiting for us, if not international then domestic surely.

BDs not all that bad. Even our peaks are of similar ft to that of Ben Nevis, Scotland.
For a country the size of a province/state we are blessed to have peaks, mountains, sandy beaches, islands, forests, etc

Aside from unplanned urban growth I actually like bd, the skies are beautiful, vibe is nature is amazing, good food too especially in villages.
there are some places in Dhaka even that are so beautiful that I would rather live there if I had the chance then live in west or Middle East. Namely montripara, the national museum and surrounding areas etc too bad I’m no minister or rich enough to afford living there. Have to settle for second best like regular citizens like gulshan, uttara, dhanmondi

. . . . . .
Must be nice to have a warm climate winter
