The issue is Pakistani Punjab, not Indian Punjab. West Punjab has got ample water because of 1959 Noon-Nehru Treaty. India dares not violate that treaty and supplies ample water via five rivers.

Better you hope that Treaty to prevail. If Modi does something, there will be a water war. Pakistan with all its problems has now 1.4 million troops.

They are supported by a vast agriculture land in Punjab. Pakistan military has its own vast farm lands.

Perhaps, people do not understand the implication of this large number of troops. India usually extends the length of fighting whenever there is a war in Kashmir in the north.

With too less troops Pakistan was unable to match this Indian extension. Now, with a greater number, Pakistani troops can extend its operations from Kashmir to the Run of Kutch in the south in Sindh at the same time.

Pakistan can repulse an Indian attack and keep IA troops away for a few weeks with its new recruits along its entire length of border.

Meanwhile, big powers would sit and enact a truce as usual. It has been going on for seven decades.

India cannot withhold or reduce water supply just because you think India will win. The cost is very high for both countries.

The water treaty favors Pakistan at the cost of Indian interest.

But, why India is worried about the prospect of a change of in BD？In order to know this, you have to take an interview with an Army General who is a Planner.

i read Pakistan have more nuclear weapons than India.
anyway, fencing on India-Pakistan border, and having improved relation between the 2 nations also matter....
we dont find Pakistan is building its military against india. its something this is how the whole world is. and Pakistan would be a strong nation, true, with matching countries like Egypt, Turkey etc
