Bangladesh sacrifices UNSC candidacy to support Japan

Well , how could any self respecting leader of country sell the right to caste vote in UN council , which decides on so many vital international issues ?

Really sad , to rob Bangali people a chance to impact global political decisions and raise awareness of Bangali people's position in international politics

But ...Money does buys .... stuff as they say ....

5-6 Billion is the going price for UN council seat it seems

How much impact does a UNSC seat has on global political decisions? Nil. Can you even name all of them without looking up? While if giving up the chance at the seat brings investments, that is direct benefit to the people.

Japan is investing $5 billion in Bangladesh in infrastructure projects, with opportunities for wider economic cooperation. This will definitely help the Bangladeshi people. Last year, alone, we poured $11 billion into Bangladesh. Japan is a long time partner of Bangladesh.

I think UN seat has value as a country makes "Important" Decisions on world stage so the seat should not be sold like its done now .....

Japan probably would have won the seat anyways due to its neutral stance in international arena and good ties with many nations

A fact that BD beat Japan by the year 1978 and got the same position. This time we decided to not go for Candidacy.
Hope it will be helpful for our BD-Japan relationship. We need to enter the $46 bn market of Japan's garment sector.
Which is 80% occupied by China. Even Vietnam Cambodia is ahead of us.

Yes ! The current administration in Bangladesh needs to procure wider FDI's into the country, and hey, if they make concessions to Japan, we can reward Bangladesh for helping us in our quest for UN approval. Right now, South Asia is the lucrative emerging markets. If Abe can guarantee India up to $35 Billion worth in investments, there's no reason why we can do something similar in Bangladesh , which has been a time honored partner.

Abe is securing India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka with investment and partnership packages.

What's wrong with Bangladeshi people ? They're hard working, noble and aspiring. The same as Indian people. I would hope Japan opens immigration for skilled Bangladeshi , Indian workers into Japan.

Japan is not a very poor and underdeveloped country like India. Japan needs our manpower in a limited scale. Our people are in real demand in Japan because our protein-fed boys are healthy and hard working lot of people. Indians cannot stand the rigors of Japanese construction and factory jobs.

Bangladeshis in Japan (Zainichi Banguradeshujin) are well renowned for their hard work, dedication to family, and their assimilation into Japanese society. I've been to Tsukuba City years back and met many Banguradeshujins in the university district -- their mastery of Japanese language is Excellent , their mannerism and etiquette is good, too. One thing i notice about Banguradeshujins is that they save as much as they can in their work , and send most of their earnings to their native country to help family, relatives. This is , in my opinion, very noble character.

Don't take the troll seriously, Indians have a habit of calling their own citizens as illegals!

"According to Samir Guha Roy of Indian statistical institute, many of the presumed illegal Bangladeshis are actually Indian citizens migrating from neighboring provinces.

The so called illegal migrants in Maharashtra are actually Bengali speaking Indian citizens from West Bengal, Police would demand 2000-2500 from each of the detained Bengali speaking people for their release."

I have the opportunity to meet Indians in Japan. They are not fit to work in the factory floors because they are physically weak. Is it not because they do not eat protein as much as their body would require. So, they prefer less rigorous kitchen jobs in the restaurants.

China realizes that under BAL/SHW our foreign affairs are outsourced to Delhi. And China knows this is an anti-people act because the people view India as the lone potential threat.
