Bangladesh’s example: Give secularism, tolerance a chance in Pakistan

A muslim can never be secular and secularism is a form of
abomination in the muslim world and as far as tolerance is concerned BD was tolerant before this BAL dalals came to power
and we don't need secularism to prove tolerance to Hindu India.

A Muslim cannot be secular, but a country can be made secular. People like Shahriar Kabir work for India. We do not have to accept his brand of secularism whereby persons' minds are un-Islamized. However, we can remain moderate minded by not following the extreme examples of religious persecusion or fanatism that can be seen in many muslim countries including Pakistan.

Changing words here and there in the Constitution makes no difference if the population do not believe in the changes. De-Islamization in the name of secularism is not what people want in Bangladesh. They do not also want Pakistan style extremism. They want a kind of moderation whereby people live in harmony and without the fear for life because of a non-mainstream religion or because one is a member of a different sect in the mainstream religion.

East watch bhai, welcome back. I disagree with the first part of your post simply because we have tolerance and
modernity in ISLAM and don't need secularism for that. Your are right about crooks like sharier
kabir and that's the reason why i wrote that this opinion in ET is posted by anti-islamic
bigots and they want to promote awami-type dalali throughout the muslim world. But bro we
don't have any fanatics in these country to begin with. SO the question of extremism doesn't even come in. If we have to be worry about any type of
extremist, its awami extremist and their venomous extremist ideology.

Pakistan and Bangladesh can not be compared. Seriously, totally different dynamics. Pakistan is a heterogenous society with many different ethnic groups who share a common belief in Islam. Certain elements of secularism should be implemented in Pakistan but Islam as a whole can never be taken away from Pakistan because that is one major element that combines the whole country together.

Of course in the case of Bangladesh, our ethno-linguistic ties with them were just too different which along with mismanagement by the elite, led to their frustration at our "dominance" but that is a different topic.
