With the latest report on climate change and the impact of climate migrants along with a high birth rate; BD needs a place for its people to go. It is mostly wetlands and marshlands which are prone to flooding. Textiles will only sustain for so long and human capital needs development.
The ironic thing is that economic migrants leave a burgeoning economy for India while Rohingya add more poor to it. Yet where the Bangladeshis head out to isnt much better but so far the flow has not gone to the other way around. The flow of humans is outward from south asia, and it seems BD and Burma are at the lowest rung of it.
What if the hasina policy backfires and suddenly the xenophobic changes force the deportation of those Bengalis working in PK? What would be the toll on the cities of BD of even 10% of those immigrsnt workers(poor ones, mostly cooks and house help) sent back to BD?
