Featured Bangladesh Plans Aircraft Production In 2021

The difference is, that DUB guy is not letting his opposition to BAL govt. into transforming into opposition of the country. Unlike the permanent bitter guy here who want Bangladesh to fail in everything so that he can sooth his vindictive mind.
I have seen many item in my life . But TBH , this one is special . Living in the USA and pretend to be all knowing about Bangladesh

Bhai ,Oi video ta dekhen zeta Bilal Bhai ke quote kore post korlam ( apnake tag korechi). Sei lok er dharona holo biman banate pare Tai MRCA te deri hocche. Ar se kintu strong logic diyeche. 3/4 min er video please purata dekhen.er logic gulo mone dhorte pare apnar.

I understand the enthusiasm, but a lot of things have to fall in place infra-wise, before they can even start assembling airplanes. Even one example.

Airplane banatey onek kicchu lage. Airplane bananor propaganda Bangladesher kicchu oshikkhito lok ke feed kora jai, but I see no evidence to have this happen, definitely not by 2021.

I am tempted to say - making or even assembling airplanes is not Delhi ka Laddoo...you don't have to go far, go see the infra PAC in Pakistan has, or even older example, HAL with all the expertise and infra they built to test airplanes being built/assembled.

In India - private companies like Mahindra and Tata have ten times the infra on assembling aerospace components even.

Although not a professional, I have been an aerospace aficionado for a while now and am fully informed on what is needed. Nothing that I have seen so far at Bangabandhu Aerospace University (BSMRAAU) publicly, demonstrates to me any iota/inkling of evidence that we will see a Made-in-Bangladesh or even assembled-in-Bangladesh fixed-wing or heli aircraft by 2021.

If it happens - I promise you guys, I will shave my head completely.

Here is our PM talking about setting up aircraft overhaul (and manufacturing at some point) at Lalmonirhat (Northern tip of Bangladesh). What logic led to this line of thinking for BAF??

I am sorry - but this BAF logic can only be called Ahammuk/Burbak logic. Why the heck in Lalmonirhat, which is away from any conceivable point of industrial or logistical support in Bangladesh and twenty miles away from Indian border?

Indian RAW plan to deny Bangladesh any strategic airpower advantage - in full force and display by Hasina. Wasting money on garbage trainers again and again in spite of having money to purchase potent MRCA...very frustrating.

My apologies if I hurt anyone's feelings - but reality is what it is, as opposed to propaganda.

Ei shob faltu bishoy niye Maatha gamiye lab nai.

There are more important projects that the country is embarking on, If anything we should be excited for those.

Ground Reality is nobody in BD beyond this forum, gives a flying ****, If we can or cannot make aircraft by 2021.

Non-issue in its entirety.

As for BAF picking lalmonirhat, the less I say the better, actually the less I say about BAF the better.

Clueless windowlickers.

Agreed.

I just have 'afsos' that in a country of 170 some odd Million people (and not too stupid apparently), they could not gather the wherewithal or technical ability to manufacture even simple airplane wing/window/door components?

This is half the population of the US!! We don't even have a few people who can put these things together, which are routinely made in the personal garages of people which are attached to their houses?

There is no possible logic in why we could not assemble the MPAs we bought with so much cash from RUAG Germany when the Dornier 328 is such a simple utility aircraft. All it is, is riveted sheetmetal and maybe (maybe) some fiberglass components. Indians have been assembling these from the 70's/80's.

We could have set up some local shops to become automotive and aerospace suppliers to global programs like Boeing, GKN aerospace or Airbus early enough, but our uneducated leadership had no vision to encourage such activity locally. Indonesia and India have progressed far ahead of us, Indonesia especially with their facilities in Bandung.

Here is one small company in India which is a known Tier II supplier to Boeing and Airbus. There are many hundreds like these in India, thanks to their government's encouragement and policies. We can call their country sh*thole (which it maybe is in some places) but reality is what it is as far as progress and technology.

Shame on us!!

Shame on us, indeed.

We have the people, no doubt about that, 164+ Million means we have more than enough people trained in every specialization under the sun, however, they're only Bangladeshi in name since they live abroad due to lack of opportunities at home.

We don't lack the brains, nor the willpower, nor the urge, nor the workforce, hell we even have the money, what we lack is firm visionary leadership.

Our leadership needs to fully embrace the 21st century, you can't let up ay the status quo, bhat ase, dal ase mane shob ase, no, that's not how it works, you've got to push beyond the essentials.

But our leadership is busy patting themselves on the back, thinking how far we have come in ensuring food safety and electricity for all.

It's silly really, they've secured the essentials, now they want to throw the anchors down and run aground, even when the winds are beckoning us sail onto elsewhere.

As a Bangladeshi who is not onboard with the idea of giving up on my country, you will not believe how frustrated I am.

I will not give up on my country, but it's looks like the people we have 'elected' have already given up themselves, where does that leave people like me ?

Pathetic, the nation is like a ship with a broken rudder, miraculously dodging trouble through no effort of its own.

True.

I find what you said about,

they're only Bangladeshi in name since they live abroad due to lack of opportunities at home.

So true.

If Bangladeshi leadership made it attractive to have well-educated, skilled, well-exposed technocrat people return from every corner of the globe, they could do so much for the country.

But the stories I hear from expat Bangladeshi returnees is not encouraging. There are systemic issues that the Govt. needs to solve (and has yet to solve) that prevents more expats from going back home, even at later retirement stages in their lives.

Just to mention one small thing, I had a host of friends come back because they feared that CoVid treatment in Bangladesh was so sub-par.

Instead of complaining, most expats would really jump at the chance to do something for the land of their birth, yet the leadership has no vision, no mission, nothing!

Since Progoti assembles cars and SUVs, they can probably also assemble a simple propeller plane by making a few changes in the production line. Anything more than that like assembling a turbo-prop or jet powered aircraft will require more sophisticated education, training, and infrastructure.

I would rather BAF make some short and medium range SAMs

but ok

will be excellent for publicity stunt. Not so much for practicality
