What's new

Bangladesh Navy Will Build Two New ASuW LPC Locally.

The way India is behaving in Asaam ( Muslim Citizenship ) , Babri Masjid case in Supreme court , Kashmir status change n bifurcation , Demanding land for airport from Bangladesh or sharing land of it , Deeping ties with Israel n USA , Objection or Worry on Bangldesh Submarines n relations with China n many many more i think the day is not far that India will be against Bangladesh as well ( u may disagree but the way it is building Armed forces n Bad designs i m convinced ) so for that day Bangladesh should prepare from today atleast to defend itself . Best wishes n regards from Pakistan .

.
The other examples can be Hayabusa-class or Hamina-class. Specially Hayabusa-class. Except the 76mm gun the weapon layout is almost same.

But the new OPV designed by Fincantieri for Qatari navy is most interesting. It's a mini corvette. :smitten::smitten: The OPV design selected by the Qatari Navy has a length of 63 meters, a maximum breadth of 9.20 meters, a draft of 2.60 meters for a full load displacement of 670 tons.

Its maximum speed is set to be 30 knots, its range 1500 nautical miles (at 15 knots). The propulsion system consists in 4x diesel engines, 4 shafts and 4 fixed pitched propellers. It will have an endurance of 7 days at sea.

The crew complement will be 38 sailors.

The OPVs will be fitted with a 76mm main gun by Leonardo, 8x VLS cells for VL MICA surface to air missiles (by MBDA), two Marlins 30mm remote weapon stations (Leonardo), 4x Exocet MM40 Block III (MBDA) anti-ship missiles.

Leonardo is responsible for the integrated supply of the new naval units’ combat system (Athena), main radar system (Kronos) and on-board sensors and defence sub-systems, including the fire control system.

Two Sylena Mk2 decoy launchers by Lacroix will protect the vessels against anti-ship missile threats.

Or we can just build something like Visby class or Tuo Chiang-class. :p: It's fascinating what navies around the world can do with smaller vessel than 700 tons. If they can build something amazing like those we can sure do better with our 700 tons design.

Description

The Combattante FS65 developed by CMN is a compact vessel with stealth lines which can reach a high speed and offer an important fire power. The vessel is designed for littoral warfare defence operations against air and surface threats, patrolling tasks, law enforcement and ISR missions.

The Combattante FS65 combines the spirit of previous proven Combattante classes with 21st Century technologies: Stealth and Electronic Warfare.

The Combattante FS65 has been designed to meet the needs of modern navies who wish to maintain their ability to take action combining speed and firepower while optimizing their acquisition costs.

Technical Data
Design
Stealth and compact design.
Main design requirements included:
» High speed (34 knots) to allow for lighting fast attacks and rapid response
» Seakeeping
» Endurance
The Combattante FS65 limited crew (43 sailors) may cross a distance of 2,500 miles with a weapon system similar to those found on vessels from upper classes (Corvettes and Frigates).
Missions
The Combattante FS65 is a high performance compact and multifunction ship able to perform area surveillance tasks as well as anti-air, anti-surface and electronic warfare missions.

Typical missions include:
» Fast strike against surface, air or coastal targets
» Coastal and off-shore patrolling
» Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR)
» Naval and law enforcement application
» Integration to a naval task force for Anti Surface, Anti Air and Anti Missile Warfare
» Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) monitoring & surveillance
» Interception & Control
» Support to operationsof Land Forces
» UAVs ISTAR operation (Intelligence, Surveillance, Targeting Acquisition & Reconnaissance)

Missions against coastal targets may be conducted through the use of the 76mm gun and MM40 blkIII Exocet.
There is space for two Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIB): 4.25m & 6.50m (up to 8.00m).
Weapons
The Combattante FS 65 offers a very high firepower for a 65 meters vessel:
» 1x Oto Melara 76mm SR main gun
» 1x MSI Defence SEAHAWK SIGMA 30mm RWS with Thales Lightweight Multirole Missile (LMM)
» 6x MBDA VL Mica surface to air missiles
» 8x MBDA MM40 blk III Exocet anti-ship missiles

The vessel has been designed with provisions for modularity. As such, the 30mm gun system at the stern may be replaced by a Raytheon Mk49 mod 3 Guided Missile Launcher (with 21x RAM Surface to Air missiles). The 76mm main gun may be fitted with Oto Melara's Vuclano rounds to increase capability and range against land targets.

Sensors, Electronics and Decoys
Sensors are all grouped in a single "C-MAST" integrated mast.
Developed in a partnership between CMN, Cassidian and Ineo Defense, C-MAST is a single compact and lightweight mast, which houses 2D, 3D and navigation radars, optronic, electronic warfare and communications systems.
2x Decoy launchers
Engines/Propulsion
4x high speed diesel engines with 4x fixed pitch propellers
