Bangladesh looks west for attack helicopters

Bangladesh has approved the purchase of eight Western attack helicopters for the first time, these to be used by the air force to support the army. Consequently, an RfP will be issued by January 2019.

Why not Ka-52s or Z-10s? They are versatile and carry enough firepower.

Egypt was the first customer of Ka-52 AFAIK and they are not satisfied with it, now they are looking to buy Apache. Plus it's gun can't rotate and had a funny incident once where the helicopter greased itself by its own 30mm gun. And why would BAF buy Ka-52 or Z-10 when they can afford better and battle proven A-129, Mi-28 and 35? Even China took help from Kamov to design Z-10. And that's been operational only for few years.

Bangladesh did show interest in T-129. PM's military advisor visited both Leonardo's, the original A-129's manufacturer and TAI's stall in different defense exhibition. But after U.S blocked engine supply for Pakistan's T-129 deal with Turkey this might be impossible. Plus local Boshundhara group has connection with Leonardo and they will office in Dhaka. Moreover, BAF bought various helicopter from Leonardo. So i think Leonardo has more chance than Turkey because of the connection with BAF and local business group. And how's T-129 superior? Both A-129 and T-129 is basically the same thing if i am not mistaken.
