Bangladesh Islamist orator Rofiqul Madani sued over pornography

Dekhen na ki hoy. Just wait and watch. Divide and rule doctrine niye ektu research koren, nijei bujhe zaben.

In order to counter India's religious politics, Bangladesh is also going to need the strong back up of religious politics. India isn't going to be secular again, so BAL need fanatic Mullahs too, in order to counter sanghis.

Janen to loha diye loha kata hoy? Amar kisu bolar nai ar just dekhte thaken.

@DalalErMaNodi

Na na, Ami to boli nai je mulla'r dorkar nai, Ami just bolsi Oder ke control Korte hobe..

If as you say, the mullahs are an asset in the long term then they need to shift their focus to India and stop prodding BD Gov in the backside.

So - ultimately (and sadly) the predicament of the Islamic-minded parties in Bangladesh (and that of Rohingyas - ironically) remains the same, lack of intelligent and astute leadership.

No one is calling for establishing Shariah in Bangladesh, but there should be some tangible representation of conservative parties which have significant (number and strength) of followers, particularly among the lower middle class as well as among educated conservatives.

Rank oppression of Islamic-minded opposition is not a great MO in my opinion, like Hasina has done with Jamaat and is doing with Hefazat right now. I am sure there is some New Delhi diktat that is making her do this, if you ask me.

Representation of Islamic minded opposition is not a bad thing in Bangladesh and should be allowed and pursued. Even countries more secular than ours and with more advanced economies do this (Malaysia and Indonesia comes to mind).

But who will represent and lead these Islamic parties? The folks who lead them cannot be Hasina puppets, or their credibility will suffer. And dissent will grow.

Islamist in Indonesia is not always an opposition, they ruled Indonesia since 1955-1960. Practically they are the ones who are the brain to get independence from Dutch diplomatically and Soekarno is more simbolic leaders since our system in the past was parliamentary.

They are practically in bed with Soeharto since 1990 and then Soeharto put Habibie as VP and Yusril as government spokes person. Pro-democracy movement leader during 1997-1998 is Amien Rais, another Islamist. Habibie, another Islamist leader, become President during crucial time 1998-1999. After that Islamist lead coalition ruled Indonesia and put Gus Dur as President and Amien Rais as MPR chairmant where many law are changes and some part in our constitution are amended under his lead.

During Megawati administration (2002-2004), both Islamist and Nationalist made coalition and Amien Rais is still MPR chairmant. During 2004-2014, Islamist group were part of government.

During Jokowi administration, Islamist are divided but in majority support Jokowi administration and become part of his coalition (PAN,PPP, PKB) while PK (Justice Party) become opposition.

Thanks for the historical accounts of Indonesian Politics brother. :-)

Politics in indonesia (I reckon) is a lot cleaner than that in Bangladesh.

Indonesian people are patient/thougtful and they have respect for anyone opposing their views, although they may disagree.

The word "Islamist" is a dirty word to Islamophobic people all around the world, and Hindutvas in India also use it as such. But we all know Islamist does not mean what it implies in Islamophobia propaganda.

It will take Bangladesh a decade or more to get to Indonesia level of clean politics.

It wasn't always like this, but lately in the last couple of decades, things with Bangladeshi politics has gotten very dirty and a lot of low class people have entered politics.

Primary reason is that most of Bangladeshi civil society and educated folks have abandoned the country, in droves. The inmates are now running the asylum.

We have a leadership crisis of sorts, even petty uneducated thugs now control politics in some areas.

Police have started a case against Islamist orator Rofiqul Islam Madani under the Pornography Control Act.
Besides anti-state activities, Madani watched and kept pornographic videos on his mobile phone, said Mohammad Iltutmish, a deputy commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police.

Iltutmish also said on Tuesday the police filed a petition with Gazipur Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court seeking a seven-day remand to grill Madani. The court is set to hear the petition on Thursday.

Experts found the pornographic videos after seizing Madani’s phone following his arrest in Netrakona by the Rapid Action Battalion on Apr 8, said Gachha Police Station OC Ismail Hossain.

Charges under the Digital Security Act have also been brought against Madani, the OC said.
The RAB said they arrested Madani on charges of spreading hate through his speech.

He is accused of spreading negative and provocative remarks about the administration through YouTube.

Several destructive activities were carried out in various places, including Brahmanbaria and Chattogram, following Madani’s provocative statements.

In his mid-20s, the diminutive Madani is known as a ‘child orator’.

The police detained him in Dhaka’s Motijheel during radical group Hifazat-e Islam’s violent protests on Mar 25 against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh. He was released later and not named in a case over the violence.
😂

Why do you think India is involved in everything in BD?

While we're at it, why not ship these Rofiqul and Mominul guys over to Mumbai?

Isn't this the perfect timing to find child **** on the phone of the one man responsible to insult Modi, Did Modi made an offer Haseena couldn't refuse.
All terrorists should be Shot. Their religion is irrelevant.

with that argument more than 50% of India should be shot
You really need some lessons in history Muslim brother.

Not all mullahs are angels and not all laws against mullahs need come from a kafir. Why don't you ask, who Imran khan is trying to please with his latest ban?

So far Imran has not pleased anyone but only pissed people off, if you have time I have the list.
The most pissed amongst them is the one Haseena is trying to please. He is running around hiding from Imran, when Imran takes the podium his blood pressure goes thru the roof.
