no offence, but the looks of both soldiers is very outdated and seeming pop out from 80's decade.
A training with India, with whom BD has literally negligible military ties, is just for show. So expect normal soldiers to participate. I even doubt they are infantry but I might be wrong. But if it was with China, you would probably see the gears and toys coming out.
These things matter. That's why you will see SWADS, a force whose info. which has been kept extremely confidential, participating ONLY when there is an exercise with the USA.
As far as my knowledge goes, our training is actually based more on mobile infantry than armoured warfare. Thus we try to train our soldiers better. We also prefer to teach guerrilla and asymmetric warfare.
You are correct and that's the right way to go. We dont require thousands of armored vehicles/tanks but immense mobility. An army-driven guerrilla fighting force is going to be very effective in our terrain, which is riverine and soft. Given our weak-link in air force, any land fighting vehicle will be targeted and taken out with ease. That's why we need to go the portable AA capability route, alongside anti-tank weapons. If the objective is to capture the country, any incoming enemy force would have to get into a land battle and that is exactly where they will fail.
On a side note, I personally would like to see a small jungle-warfare unit and a mountain corps, even though both jungle and mountain aren't significant in BD. But come to think of it, they can be deployed in the Khulna, Rangamati and Sylhet areas.
But if nothing works, there is always Rickshaw-alar "bangali mair"!!
