Bangladesh government in search of new allies in Asia

.
Leave him. He is saying to an Indian that you are not Indian.

Idiotic post. They are fighting like any of the 20 regiments for last 100 of years for India even before 1947. No need to reply as he doesn't know what he is talking.

I know better about my country same as Bangladeshi knows more about her country !!

This was the original post from eastbengal "Gurkha people r from Nepali origin i believe . Why don't u refer Rajput or Sikh regiment ?? why do u need to hire troops from nepal ??" Paras replied that they are indian. I just showed him that your gurkha troops are just hired from nepal, yes they are indic people, but not indian

Do you really do some research before posting or just trying luck ?

Obviously, It will end for British. Gurkhas don't live anywhere except India and Nepal. It's very difficult close to impossible to recruit other ethnic and religious people to different Army. Gurkhas are Saint Hindu warriors and their number reduced in Britain. India and Nepal are their homeland. It was reducing since few decades back only in Britain. Leave about Gurkha as you won't understand.

By the way, I already said India will never attack with Army. It will waste time. We will use Modern Jets/Missiles to complete the task in few minutes if BD tries anything adventurous.

They are Indians as much as I am Indian. The name originated some 1200 years back in Nepal but Nepal was part of India long back. Now Gurkhas lives in both India and Nepal. I don't think it's too hard to understand. There are many Rajputs living in Nepal. They are Nepalese But they orignated in present India and Rajput Population of India is more than Nepal. We have Regiments of Rajput too. It's same thing. Also it's name but people of that specific regiment don't belong to same ethnic group or caste of Hindus.

Their is Dogra regiment. They were originated in J&K some 200 years back when J&K was princely state. Now, Dogras (They are Hindus) are part of Indian Army and most of them are located in J&K only.

They originate from Nepal from what I know. But Gurkha soldiers do work in the US, UK and even Singapore.

Here are some pics of Singapore's Gurkha regiment:

do you think all the gorkhas are militants?gimme a break.there are millions of gorkhas living in india and nepal.only a negligible fraction of them are warriors.there are lacs of gorkhas who are native to india and are born and brought up in india and have never been to nepal before.i never talked about only militants but the whole gorkha population of india.for instance, baichung bhutia was the captain of the indian soccer team and had sikkimese gorkha ancestry.now you might say nepalis are also playing for indian football team.gurkhas are even living in northern bangladesh.i will make it clear once again that i was talking about whole gorkha population and not only gorkha fighters.indian army has substantial number of gorkha soldiers.

Gorkhas are from an area called Gorkha.

The troops are Nepali in origin and the word Gurkha is a misnomer.

The Nepalis can settle down in India and get Indian citizenship.

There are those in the Gurkha Rifles from Nepal too.

They are differentiated as ID and ND in the Gurkha Rifles.

ID is Indian Domicile.

ND is Nepal Domicile.

The Assam Rifles is predominantly Nepali in origin of the ID variety.

Do you read the post of others before posting?? Paras asked me the for proof of the number of gurkas in the army. Read the source, it says there are 42000 gurkhas in the indian army. And 40000 are from nepal, quoted in another source.

I never denied the fact that they are of indian race, i never denied the fact that some of them live in india. But i do deny that the gurkhas in your army are indian(nationality), they are nepalese and are from nepal

nepalese gurkhas are proud nepalese,no offence.but even their history leads them to india.both nepali gurkhas and indian gurkhas are a member of hindu people, descended from brahmins and rajputs ,living chiefly in nepal where they achieved dominance after being driven from india by muslims.a large number of gurkhas lives in northern west bengal which was a part of nepal before 1816 and these parts were given to india as a result of the sugauli treaty.even after 1816 many gurkhas immigrated to india because of open border and now consider themselves indians.

so,on historical grounds we can also claim that gurkhas are indians who actually immigrated to nepal.:azn:

. .
I think the argument raised by banglarmanush is that, gurkhas are nepalise by nationality, which is but truth. that is why gurkhas of nepali origin are not allowed to serve police services and para military.

There are however gurkhas of indian nationality as well.

.
whats so special with Gurkha??

they are very loyal and religiously follow what they are told to do. Any officer would want them under his command.

This may not look very special in civilian circumstances, but it becomes coveted trait when enemy shooting at you in anger.
