Unlike 2G, 3G and 4G that focused on mobile phones, the promoters of 5G say it offers faster, more stable connections for cars, homes, factories and offices

Bangladesh is yet to come under full 3G coverage while 4G has just been introduced. But there is already rumour about 5G. The fifth-generation wireless technology is expected to be available from 2020.

Sources at Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) say talks will soon be held with the advisers about the matter.

Telecom and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar said: “The world will embrace 5G in 2020. So, we too will have to accept new technology and must move on to 5G. There is no option for procrastination.”

But he dubbed moving on to 5G in 2020 an ambitious dream. “It will be a challenge for us,” he said.

After its introduction, all technologies, goods and services will become 5G-based, the minister said, adding that there should be more thoughts regarding these things.

He said technology was ever changing. Before adopting a new technology we have to decide how it will benefit us and if it is compatible with the socio-economic condition and then take necessary preparations.

It would take time, he added. “If the use of technology leads to joblessness, then it will not bring in a good result.”

BTRC Chairman Shahjahan Mahmood said Bangladesh would enter the 5G era. “Advisers of the International Telecommunication Union will be contacted for this,” he added.

When handing over 4G licences, he had said Bangladesh would lag behind if it did not adopt new technologies. “Many are questioning why 4G is being introduced when the country is yet fully come under 3G coverage. I will tell them that we will move on to 5G. There is no option to avoid technology,” he added.

5G, the next generation wireless technology promises to go beyond phones and link up everything from vehicles to household devices, or anything else with an internet connection at far greater speeds.

Unlike 2G, 3G and 4G that focused on mobile phones, the promoters of 5G say it offers faster, more stable connections for cars, homes, factories and offices.

. . . .
2020 is a bit more ambitious, 2023 is more realistic, if they have the will for it.
Nah. 2020 is right. No one said 5G for the whole country, just like we all know 4g won't be in whole country by the time 5G actually arrives. 5G in Dhaka city, Chittagong city and Cox's Bazar or even just the capital isn't that ambitious.

. .
LOL, its 2018, you and your kind still shits on railway tracks. Shameless creatures...

And, Bangladesh will get 100% 5G coverage way before !ndia...
India first launched 4G, 6 years ago. Many developing countries launched much later than this.Delay in Bangladesh mostly due to bureaucratic, not technical what some uneducated, cow-cola lover thinking.

Hehe, I don't know why Indians laugh at other countries, if my memory is not wrong - the India 5G network is built by HUAWEI.
Don't you dare insult them, peasant. They have infinite G network. And they can make mobile phones with cow dung. You backward people will never catch up to them.

you psychic skills need rejigging. Nor India nor any other country has any other country has a large scale deployed 5G network. A lab test is not a deployed network.

Just FYI India has greater per capita data consumption than China. India has 250 Million 4g users with 89 pc population coverage. with data prices 5 cents a GB.

And moreover Jio the largest 4g telecom provider just announces Cisco as the winner of a 10 B$ expansion over the next 2 years. Huawei needs to work hard to catch up. Indian market is not the Chinese maket where it can take advantage of protectionism in the name of censorship and take advantage of cost arbitrage. It needs to compete in terms of technology.

5 cents a GB? shit, thatss like 3 rupees for 1GB. thats mighty cheap. How much does one have to pay for 1 megabit of bandwidth in india?

Per capital Data Consumption? Interesting! Indians generate very little e-commerce value in comparison to other countries. Just wondering how you guys consume all those data......... :azn:

Thank you for reminding me. I almost forget that India has just entered 4G.
“India has greater per capita data consumption than China.” —— Your hunger is more serious than North Korea. Do you talk about the per capita consumption data here?

Indian market is not the Chinese maket.
It needs to compete in terms of technology.

??????????

Now, even if India is a BBB- country, China still does not stop helping India. In many ways, India relies on Chinese technology, including 5G networks, rail transit, renewable energy, infrastructure... Even weapon system.

Communication equipment.

5G deployment in India will happen in line with global timeline: Huawei

Rail traffic and train chips.

Chinese firm exports transistor chips for Indian locomotives

Exports eight-inch chips to India

CRRC Dalian obtains metro vehicle export order from Nagpur, India

China’s CRRC to provide 14 subway trains with 112 carriages to India

China set to export trains for Mumbai Metro Rail project

China's leading train manufacturer starts operation in India

Kolkata Metro Unveils Design of CNR Dalian Trains

Chinese Corporation CRRC to supply coaches to Nagpur Metro

Chinese firm gets Rs 604 contract for Mumbai metro rail proj

and, Delhi metro escalator also comes from the Chinese company - Canny.

Renewable energy.

China’s Sany Plans 1 GW Renewable Energy Capacity In India

Engineering equipment.

Sany India secure orders the maldives tens of millions of do

We even helped the India cannon reach the Saudi level.

Fake Chinese spares for indigenised Bofors guns

Now the India cannon is close to the Saudi level.

Saudis Use Chinese-made Cannons in Yemen

And the basis @Syama Ayas;India's B??? Missile is a copy of the Chinese missile(sorry, I forgot its name).

India should be more grateful to us. Because we help India missiles reach Turkey level!

Turkey Is Ready To Export Chinese Ballistic Missiles

Mostly video. But that still is a proof of infrastructure.

1. This is a thread about Internet Infra. You need better comprehension skills.
2. Being part of global supply chains does not infer dependance.

Yah!!! This is a Internet Infra. But my son talks about per capita consumption, market, technology. I just add it.

There is a limit to that. You can use 1.5GB at 4 rupees a day. With a condition, the 4G speed (avg 20Mbps) will be limited to 1.5GB a day after that the speed will be drastically reduced to some 300Kbps. Although you can enjoy unlimited free calls and sms.
