China has already settled its debt with Sri Lanka by taking long term lease over the port they built.

China will not pay Sri Lanka money - for it to be used to pay back debt to the west.

Over 90% of Sri Lanka’s debt is to the west.

China is not responsible for servicing western debt.

If you borrow from the west - be ready for the consequences!

The globalists are ruthless lenders.

10% is only the sovereign to sovereign debt between PRC and SL- there is a lot of other borrowings from Chinese entities as well.

Most multilateral entities lend to SL at relatively fine rates and over a long-term. The projects for which they are lent have a good due dilligence. By contrast Chinese loans are high interest, short tenure and often for projects of dubious utility (Hambantota port and Rajapaksa airport for eg)

Whereas western loan funds woke nonsense and comes with too many strings.

In summary, Chinese debt is offset by the infrastructure they build. Western debt is offset by taxes on ordinary people and more borrowing.


Improved the lives of people who use it.

Loans that fund infrastructure is a win, win.

Even if it doesn’t make money you are not worse off. You pay the debt by selling the infrastructure.

But you have already benefitted by the jobs created during the construction and maintenance of it.

China will own the lease just like Dubai owning ports in the U.K.
