Myanmar's defence budget should be 20-30bn dollars. After all they are a regional pawa soon to be a supa pawa. It should be like this budget = defence budget for a soon to be a supa pawa Myanmar.

France is a very poor example as they did not understand how to use their tanks in armoured formations whereas the Germans did. Also the French air-force was massively inferior to the German one - the French Bloch fighter was simply inferior to the German Messerschmitt Bf 109.

What counts is that BD defence budget is 50% larger than the Myanmar one and over time you will see the results.

congratz to BD.
we already told u that we wont increase our defence budget in next few years.we will focus economy first. and we got our aim to be self sufficient country in defence industry. now 70% of our army used is soucing and assembling in Myanmar. reduction budget in few year cant widen the gap between us.
and we have army owned big companies which have billion dollar revenue. so in any emergency case we can add some more hundard million and we used to do. so we dont worry about BD budget. best of luck.

2 years ago, I have seen Golbalfirepower ranked Nepal better than Bangladesh.Nepal have no navy, air force and army have only light, personnel carrying weapon.They still consider Ethiopia, Yemen,Peru,Nigeria and some other small and poor African and latin american countries more powerful than BD.

In 2013, Nepal was on Globalfirepower list but not Bangladesh.I remember a discussion in PDF about this issue some years back.Which I confused of better ranking than BD.May be long time gap is the reason for this confusion.But still, Globalfirepower is not much credible for comparing military power.They just count the raw number and list them accordingly without giving any thought of quality,serviceability or age.
