This is the place you need to be clear - it is BD's strict foreign policy that it does not get involved in any international conflicts. In case of a India- Pak war, rest assured BD is going to provide lip service in favor of India. This will happen given the current govt. in power. But not a single BD boots will be on the battlefield. Doesn't matter if calls come from Delhi or Washington.

Having said that, 1971 is a defining moment in BD's history and would remain a hot cake for our politics to feed on for sometime to come. A certain section still hates Pakistan, mainly the ones who have seen the war and their direct descendants. Another entity hates India due to the big brother attitude. These two bunches are small compared to the significant portion who are in fact neutral and dont actually give a f*ck. So the question of revenge does not even arise. Of course, there are issues such as the Teesta deal and border killings on which the whole country unanimously voices same opinion.. other than that, its pretty much "whatever" attitude from most people.

You may feel strange regarding the contrasting attitude within the country but Pakistanis and Indians have absolutely no idea of how shrewd Hasina is. She plays her cards very well and knows how to balance out regional powers.. namely China and India. There are clear hints for people who follow Bangladeshi politics.

Yeah and I'm not being funny but I know a lot of young Bangladeshis especially who want to join with us or 'become' Pakistani and its the cringiest thing. Hundreds of thousands died for your freedom (which I support) and a lot of your youth/diaspora population doesn't even know or respect that. If I tell them that Bangladesh used to be a part of Pakistan they get happy. Bangladesh is starting to do better than Pakistan socioeconomically but a lot of you still have some sick inferiority complex.

Seriously Bangladeshis will say they wish they were Pakistani or Arab so they can be my skin colour. I didn't even realise fairer skin was supposedly enviable until Bangladeshis kept mentioning how 'better looking' Pakistanis are and it makes me sick. True that a lot of BD'shis have this inferiority complex as they are dark-skinned but that applies to most people of dark skin colour. I have seen lots of Pakistanis with dark skin colour and so maybe they wish they are Arabs?

I do not know what you are trying to prove here as BD does not have anything to gain by joining Pakistan. In fact Pakistan will drag BD economy down.

People have moved on, and these are exactly the significant portion of whom I spoke about earlier. Unfortunately, I have seen members pick on those small proportion who breeds hate because it supports their argument and to facilitate trolling. Its easy to have a cut-out single view than to see the larger picture and most people here do the former. Hence, we are in no danger to self-destructing ourselves due to hate. That is very minimal in the reality of the context.

I would argue that our single ethnicity is in fact a strong binding force for our nation. Having a homogeneous population is an advantage and reduces a lot of social problems, which is accentuated by our commendable performance in various HDIs. So I would not worry much.

As for the last part, we ain't joining anyone. Dont buy nonsense from internet warriors here. We are a neutral nation and we have no hate for normal Indian or Pakistani people.
