Bangladesh Budget for fiscal 2011-2012, GDP and Defence spendiing

It's not today data, Its estimated by 2030. U.S. will have 30-40 trillion+ @ that time. This is not i said. World Top Financial firms said. It's simple calculation without any dream probability. If that is not possible then also in very worst case scenario, we will reach 12 Trillion by 2% Growth in 2030 :cheesy: , And be sure Bangladesh also will not hit 1 trillion By 2050 also.

What a dumbass, ignoring simple mathematics. lol

Bangladesh Population will hit 2,000+ per Sq. Km and India 450 Maximum. Think of how to Feed huge population, Control the Inflation further and of course grow the economy. I can say India can Hit 30 trillion not sure of 1 trillion by Bangladesh. Sorry, No Offence. Just my personal view as per future prospect.

Big deal. Japan has less arable land than BD does per person.

All that matters is for BD to be able to grow current industries like shipbuilding and light engineering and create new ones such as heavy engineering and electronics. No guarantee that it will happen but who would have thought 40 years ago that BD by now would surpass India in certain indicators like life expectancy and child malmutrition?

What an idiotic comment.

Check Again : Japan has more area than Bangladesh. List of countries and outlying territories by total area - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. It's almost 250% Higher. Huge difference. Bangladesh population is already 20% Higher than Japan. Also, Why to compare with Japan ? It's very very big economy.

Life expectancy is little higher from India. Child malnutrition India is surely behind. There are 1,000 such comparison. 950 India Ahead. Does it matter ? It's surely not comparable. It's not logical when talking about GDP.

Anyway, I already said $1 trillion possible for Bangladesh and gave reasoning too. India will have $ 30 Trillion on it's own way. Never said, it won't for Bangladesh. I was replying to Great Mr. Munshi, who said Dream for India and i replied same way to Him. Also, There can't be comparison too. Good Luck for Future.

Well there was this interview with our Air Marshal SM Ziaur Rahman
by Alan Warnes this year which was more like this......

Bro...this interview was done in 2009...! A senior pakistani member here mailed me the PDF file.

However, JF-17 was only at the study stage...i believe no decision regarding procurements were taken.

Cheers!!!

I must add that the Tk.12,134 Crore or about $1.65 billion defense budget here is for payment of salaries, maitenance of weapons and other miscellaneous expenses. Budget for procurememnt of equipments, artilleries, Howitzers, tanks, planes, frigates, FACs etc is separate from this budget. GoB does not declare the procurement budget openly.

That is right...i suggest, its high time we acquire better SAM system with improved radar system, at least to get a grip on the surveillance of our sky. Also strengthen the air-wing of the navy...purchase a bunch of attack choppers tagged with AWS capability...we just hav 2, probably 3 Z-9s would also come by but we need more...

How about a helicopter carrier, specially for this purpose...?? Just a thought...

Cheers!!!

Now i dont understand the problem with many fellow bangladeshi's in this forum. Sheikh Hasina and her govt. has brought so much to the table and are almost at the verge of changing the whole face of BD and even then many of them shamelessly critisize her for everything she does.
How can anyone justify such hipocrisy.

Sorry for my ignorance. . What policy she took for the economy???

There is a lot that you Indians don't know. East Pakistan had open economy. After becoming BD most of the factories were nationalized by AL/Mujib. These devastated the war torn country even more. It is BNP/Zia that re-opened the economy. The policies of present AL is just continuation of what Zia started after AL killed it.

There is lot more to know about why we have our doubts about AL.

one question.
what is the prospect of Bangladesh as compared to pakistan's economy, is it possible for B.D to overtake pakistan anytime soon.

Just be patient, wait and see Bangladesh economy will surely surpass Pakistan economy it is all in a matter of time. Our economy is already rising, If govt. was not as corrupt as today then it will be a different story as well as rebasing our flipping economy! this is what I sulk about the most, It is very stupid that we have not rebased our economy I know for a matter of fact that if BD was rebased recently then GDP will be around 200 billion dollars. Lets not get too hasty Bangladesh economy can become a trillion dollar economy, lets see what will happen in future.

Current Real GDP growth = 6.6%
Current Inflation = 6.0%
So,
Current Nominal GDP = 6.6 + 6.0 = 12.6% or 13% (round up)

Now,

current GDP (2011)= 110 bn (excluding unaccounted and black money income, or excluding new rebase )
Future GDP (2030) = 1000+ bn

110 bn (year: 2011)
110.0000 x 1.13 = 124.3
124.3000 x 1.13 = 140.459
140.4590 x 1.13 = 158.71867
158.7187 x 1.13 = 179.352131
179.3521 x 1.13 = 202.667873
202.6679 x 1.13 = 229.014727
229.0147 x 1.13 = 258.786611
258.7866 x 1.13 = 292.428858
292.4289 x 1.13 = 330.444657
330.4447 x 1.13 = 373.402511
373.4025 x 1.13 = 421.944825
421.9448 x 1.13 = 476.797624
476.7976 x 1.13 = 538.781288
538.7813 x 1.13 = 608.822869
608.8229 x 1.13 = 687.969877
687.9699 x 1.13 = 777.405987
777.4060 x 1.13 = 878.46878
878.4688 x 1.13 = 992.669744
992.6697 x 1.13 = 1121.716761 (year: 2030)

So we will be $ 1 tr GDP in 2030, that is 19 years later, but if we rebase our GDP calculation system\base and, or, include others unaccounted incomes then we will touch $1 tr in 10 to 12 years, I guess. So his guess is right. WoW.

Your calculation is right. It will be 2030 at current rate. However your guess is way off mark.

There is a mistake in my calculation, I think.

Cos I multiplied "Current Nominal GDP growth rate (around 13%)" with "Current Real GDP value (110 bn)". But the right is multiplying "Current Nominal GDP growth rate" with "Current Nominal GDP value".
I mean "Nominal GDP rate" with "Nominal GDP Value", not with Real GDP value. And the Nominal value (may be 277 bn) will be way bigger than 110 bn (even without rebase). In that case we will achieve $1 tn GDP moreee earlier.

You mean PPP? There is nothing called nominal GDP but nominal GDP growth rate.
