Well, DEFSECA did say the first contract was signed in June, 2019.. and a following contract this year.. apparently an unknown quantity of rifles, presumably the ones from the first order, were received earlier last week with the MRAPs and Metal Shark boats..

I don't think so,this rifle isn't compatible with AK mags.BD is going for weapon which takes Type 56 mags.

In that case it is probably based on this one.

This is their multi caliber platform and the 7.62 caliber housing takes AK mags. They probably ordered a custom one that does not provide multi caliber facilities.
