but why did they mention jl-9 specifically?? Most probably JL-9 is new and accommodates similar radar which we are getting for BGI.

I didn't say it'll be the J-8. I merely stated that the F-7BGI would share cosmetic characteristics.

Imagine the nose of the JL-9 on the F-7. And we have something that looks like a J-8 with one engine, and smaller.

I do not believe this information is true as the name suggest its a bit more advanced derivetive of F-7BG. If it is then, according to ur imagination, it is either F-7FS or F-7MF program.

I do not believe this information is true as the name suggest its a bit more advanced derivetive of F-7BG. If it is then, according to ur imagination, it is either F-7FS or F-7MF program.

Well, F-7BGI is a much more advanced derivative of the F-7BG or the poor-man's F-16. Maybe, F-7BGI is the poor-man's F-16 Block 60/62.
