Bangladesh air force received 9 K-8w aircraft

.
mig 35 will be priced $30-35 million , J10B $35-40 million
actually J-10b is closer to 55 million.

But don't hold your breath, engine is still a huge problem. Just buy Russian or if you got the money, European.

Though the trainer is a good development, keep inducting those.

.
hmmm that make sense ... what about Gripen ??
gripen price is between $45-$65million, a overpriced aircraft in its category

well then MIG35 WILL BE THE ONLY OPTION LOL

Looks like Mig-35 has more chances in BAF it is an improved Fulcrum but I am wary if BAF would also ask for and maintain J-10 it is either going to be Mig-35 or J-10 as contenders along with another type either FC-1 or comparable later on but not Yak.

Anyway congratulation dulha arrived.

. . . . . .
but i think Gripen is no less than Su30 , or is it ?

Gripen is an expensive aircraft to start with and comes with US Engine and other Technologies. SU-30 is an excellent aircraft and it can have alternative support from China for spares/weapons and other upgrades that is the beauty of the aircraft.

. .
These are flyaway costs.
The real cost for these aircraft can easily reach $70-80 million a pop with avionics, weapons and spares.
well according to mig officials mig35 operational cost is 2.5 times cheaper than mig29

Operational cost is something different all together. Take Pakistan's 18 F-16's for example. they did not cost $35 million a piece, our 18 F-16's deal was worth $1.8 billion if I remember correctly. That included the aircraft themselves, the APG-68(v)9, JHMCS, several different pods jamming ECM/targeting/recon, AMRAAM and sidewinder missiles, JDAM kits, Link -16, CFT and a few other things added on later.

And if you consider operational cost. Gripen is amazing, and JF-17 probably the lowest among it's competitors.

I will venture an answer although you may not like it. And this is sort of off topic so excuse my answer.

Looking at the twenty year old LCA program - they simply did not get the support from their govt. If India can do chandrayan & mangalyan they couldn't put together a small jet the size of the Yak 130 or develop the engine for it? This was a three year affair for the Russians and Italians.

The point is in the subcontinent money and power (they beget each other) will always trump idealism and national interest. If some politicians decide they want to buy Rafales (the BOFORS case of the late two thousands) and divvy up the percentage then that's what will happen without fail. All relevant mouths to call for the LCA will be made 'khamosh' with money. And people like us will be left to our devices, coming to Pak Defence and bitchin' about it.

That's why we will always be the 'bitch' for Western countries and their 'dalals' we elect. They know this better than we do - they ruled us for two hundred plus years.

Unless people in our countries get smarter and more aware. And stop electing corrupt politicians like we always do. But I always have hope. Hope will bring change - someday.
