Thats true but we already operate migs so we have russian avionics and russian weapons. So if we stuck to those birds the short term cost will be cheaper but with gripen and F-16,we need to buy a whole new set of weapons and avionics and training is also different so in the short term it will cost a hell of a lot for for 16 gripens then 16 migs. Cause i really doubt the americans will let russians or chinese adapt the jets to work with their missiles

yup BAF should go fro mig29s now.as they already have mig29 in service

These threads are pointless, they misquote the sources they quote IF they even bother to corroborate their statements. Apparently 63-65km> equates to 86km when it comes to the detection range of a specific FCR, when the very next version of the said FCR is officially listed at detecting targets at 73Km in a specific mode for a specific RCS rating. ADGEs are apparently built upon a couple of MRMRs without an underlying network, leave alone the fact that their lack of geographical depth means that any LRSAMs will be overwhelmed by any combat aircraft with sufficient combat radius to ingress from multiple points to poke and probe the system before exploiting the gaps. BARCAPs are also apparently difficult to comprehend. Leave it be man.
