What's new

Bangladesh 7th largest mango producer in the world

When it comes to taste of mango then

INDIAN ALPHONSE MANGO.... NOTHING COMES CLOSE......

INDIA'S ALPHONSE MANGO.... GOD'S OWN MANGO 🥭 ...... this is how people feel when they eat Alphonse mango.....

.
There are various varieties produced across the subcontinent. Each one with it’s own unique flavour and taste. To say that one is better than other would be a folly. I have had the opportunity to savour a large variety and liked quite a lot of them. Even the Pakistani Sindhri was great. Few others like Langra, Dussehri, Chausa, Kesar and Himsagar that I can recall for being very tasty.

Wouldn’t like to get into jingoism on a tiny issue of mangoes.
Try haribhanga next time. Right up there with himsagar. Lengra is good too
Like a user above mentioned, Indian variety like Alphonso and badami, Imo they can’t match up to their hype.

Out of curiosity, have you tried Chaunsa?
@Michael Corleone Himsagar is exported? Any about its brix level?

.
Indians also believe that badami and alfonso are best mangoes.

and we think anyone who believes that is an ignorant moron.
No one says so, but then you’ll know more than us. We like various mangoes like Dussehri, Chausa, Malda etc.

Chausa is next level, had it Yesterday, tastes like some expensive stuff!

Alphonso is trash, overhyped for no reason, only tastes good in artificial juces like frooty.

My brother had tasted Chaunsa in Dubai once and as per him both Chaunsa and Alphonse are great but Alphonse will be choosen by anyone in long run if the person has to either stick to Alphonse or Chaunsa....

When first he had Chunsa he actually enjoyed it so much over even Alphonse but then he realized that since from his childhood he is having Indian Alphonse, Chaunsa gave him some new taste and that new taste he enjoyed more than Alphonse for some time....

If a Pakistani who is having Chaunsa since his childhood is given Indian Alphonse to eat for some time he would definitely enjoy Alphonse over Chaunsa.... Because it will be a totally new taste for him.... But looking at international demands, export success I can say Alphonse is superior....

If Alphonse is TRASH then I can safely assume that you are yet to eat AUTHENTIC Indian Alphonse from Devgad, Konkan my friend....

There are so many FAKE Alphonse mangoes in the market.... they are not even grown up in proper way.... they are grown up in artificial way to start mango business before even the season starts......

Thais export seven times the mangoes that is exported from Pakistan. They are a much larger producer.

Bangladesh mangoes aren't exported that much. There is plenty of local demand and consumption.

Good mangoes are exported to China, where there is a great demand.

On May 7, 2021, the first batch of fresh Cambodian mangoes were loaded in Phnom Penh and officially shipped to China. According to an article of Vietnam Customs Online, Cambodia is expected to export 50,000 tons of mangoes to the Chinese market every year, which will undoubtedly put pressure on Vietnamese mangoes exported to China.

According to Vietnam's Customs Online, the Economic and Commercial Department of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia reflected that China has opened imports of mangoes from 10 countries and regions, including Cambodia. Cambodia is expected to export 50,000 tons of mangoes to the Chinese market every year, which will undoubtedly pose competition to Vietnam's mango exports to China.

I do not think Vietnamese mango exports will suffer because of Cambodian exports. China is a large market. Its population will consume more of these mangoes when prices come down.

And - world's most expensive mango "Miyazaki Mango" being commercially grown in Bangladesh.

Long discussion comparing taste and color to local "Amrapallee" mangoes.
