Bangladesh 2nd most economically free nation in South Asia

You can travel 100 years into the future and those 2 countries will still be the same. A bunch of idiots who don't want to change while the white and this time even yellow boys selling weapons to both sides.
India has no issues doing trade with Pakistan. India does massive trade with China despite border conflict.
India also wants road-rail-transit connectivity through Pakistan to Afghanistan and beyond.
SAARC connectivity was restricted to BBIN because Pakistan did not want to be on-board.

Well done.
This brings out that focus on economy is what makes a nation move forward. The governments who have brought Bangladesh to this position must also be capable of deciding whether it is ASEAN or SAARC that is good for them.

BD is the only South Asian country that seems to have its shit together. It's now enjoying demographic dividends with low fertility rate and younger population. Please don't spoil the golden opportunity by associating yourself with the likes of India and Pakistan. BD should look east towards Vietnam, Thailand etc.

I wish BD can join up with Vietnam, Indonesia,Turkey,Malaysia for better economic and military cooperation , we should start limiting our involvement with the Indian government since they wanna see us as puppets.

Bangladesh is the only nation in South Asia that has a tiny bit of a chance to become a developed nation , South Asia needs at least one developed nation but NOOOOOO India wants to keep us as puppets and everyone else deals with either China or India.

Can't lie I suspect a sprinkle sarcasm in there

Just because India is next door doesn’t mean that India is into BD for everything bad or wrong with it.
It appears as if BD is going like a rocket and India is pulling it down.
If BD partners with India on mutually beneficial trade and commerce it can reap quite a few benefits. Looking forward to partnership with nations far away and estrangement from a neighbour is not understood.

However, globally, Bangladesh's economy stands 120th in the index released last week, scoring 56.5 in a scale of 100.

The score is below the global average economic freedom threshold set in the index, putting Bangladesh among 63 economies rated as "mostly unfree" along with its all regional neighbours.
Whatever may be the news title, these two paragraphs above say the reality of BD economic freedom. Economic freedom lacks here and because of this anarchism, FDI people have little interest to invest here. Their preferred destinations are Vietnam and Cambodia, instead.

I did not - however to each his own. :-)

I try not to read too much in between the lines, life is simpler and more enjoyable that way. :-)

Understand your sentiments but Indian govts. actions for Bangladesh belie any sense of fair play or long term farsighted views as to establishing trust and rapport.

There is serious lack of trust between India and Bangladesh. Our trade gap is huge and it is only exacerbated by Indian overzealous protection of their market, while we in Bangladesh do none of it. This is just the tip of the iceberg, which is step-motherly attitude of Indian govt.

Neighbors do not do well with these attitudes present.

The news is with respect to south Asian countries not whole world.

Yes, but It is not you who compiled the news. Another point is, we can always compare our index of 56.5% is too low to wow FDI. Knowing the BD culture, I have a feeling that the remaining 43.5% are at the hands of bureaucrats and their peons and ardalis (Orderly).

Usually there is no reception desk in a govt office and a Peon at hand deals with a newcomer. With their presence govt offices do not need any higher officers. Peons handle the applications and only he knows where the file is.

He will not find it unless you grease his hand with Bakshish. After all, he is killing his precious time to help you out. I am not joking. Please go and try by yourself to see if what I said is correct or not.

A 100% economic freedom nation is what we need, and not in between 0% and 100%.
