The Real Face of Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui – the Controversial “Taliban” Judge Unmasked!

On Wednesday around noon, the news of Islamabad High Court barring famous anchorperson, Mubasher Lucman from conducting any programs spread like wildfire among the Pakistani news and social media. One of the most peculiar facts about this decision was the complaint was made by Lal Masjid Shuhada Foundationon which Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui issued the order barring Mubasher Lucmanfrom conducting any programmes citing Lucman had crossed all the limits and his behavior was causing hatred against the judiciary. What makes this decision even more controversial is the fact the decision was taken overnight after the petition being filed by the militant group against Mubasher Lucman just a day ago without issuing any notice to the defendant!

The decision is not merely a restriction placed on Mubasher Lucman; it resonates far more grave future for anyone that dares to differ from the version of facts acceptable to the certain elements in Pakistani judiciary and their favored ones. It is a beginning of the end for those vying for responsible freedom of speech!

The shocking decision is not that unexpected considering the past track record of Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddqui. Have a quick look at what are some of his “greatest accomplishments”:

  • Kissing a Self-Professing Murderer in Public!
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui is the same lawyer who openly celebrated the self-confessed murderer of Former Governor Punjab Salman Taseer, Mumtaz Qadri and was photographed kissing the killer in the streets.
  • Thick as Thieves with Lal Masjid Militants:
As an attorney in 2007, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui represented and helped bail out Maulana Abdul Aziz, who was charged in multiple cases in connection with the Lal Masjid standoff.

  • Extremist Mentality:
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui is no stranger to extreme right wing tilt with a history of contending for National Assembly under the banner of Muttaheda Majlise Amal (MMA) yet facing a smashing defeat from NA-54.
  • History of Biased Decision based on Vendettas:
With a Pro-Lal Masjid stance and Extreme Right Wing Ideology, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui’s appointment to Ex-President Gen Pervez Musharraf’s case was protested on account of possible biased judgment. As feared, Justice Siddiqui had ordered the arrest of Musharraf under clause 7 of the anti-terrorism act on April 18, 2013 for illegally having confined judges in 2007. After a trial court refused his bail, Musharraf filed an appeal in Islamabad High Court on May 24, 2013.
Considering the “stellar” track record of Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and his nexus with Mir Shakil ur Rahman, who has been exposed by Mubasher Lucman himself for his financial frauds, misuse of media resources and anti-military campaigning, the Islamabad High Court decision is not only a detestable strike on freedom of speech and journalism but also a question on the integrity and unbiased stance of Pakistan’s judiciary.

Freedom of speech was not violated by court by putting ban over this blackmailer because journalism has been dead because of these kind of black sheep in form of journalists. What disappointing to me is that this good nature decision came from influenced court judge but not from information ministry or PEMRA.

Second; it was hard decision and could be appealed but it may spread more extremism and extremism followers because people could start to look over extremism mind people or organizations for justice when this task should be accomplished by government bodies.

In other words; Talibans start to govern state issues.

Mubashir Luckman? Is it the same guy who was caught planting an interview with Malik Riaz and openly asking him to gift him a villa on LIVE tv, not knowing it was still on air? He is a huge blackmailer. I laughed hard when he said that the laptops being distributed by SS are from the 90s. lol

I m no fan of Mubasher Lucman.

But I ask one thing. If Najam Sethi program can go on despite several provocations against army ISI and the country, why should Mubasher program be closed?

Nobody is fan of Mubasher Lucman but from all angles the program is to the point and mentions the corruption and fraud of said bureaucrats, politicians, political parties, judiciary and businessmen Not a single program goes against media rules outlined.

My take, corrupt judiciary is involved with Gov sell out people, what The God says is when appointed Judiciary is corrupt wait for the wrath.

Same judge was ordered to arrest musharraf last year. The jamati judge.

This Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui appears to be a dodgy character. Cant there be a stay on his order or say a legal challenge to his decree??

Geo group could be guilty of anti-state activities, Geo TV anchors such as Hamid Mir (A bigot with misconceptions about his importance); Ansar Abbassi (Fundoo of the first order) may or may not be traitors. However to put a picture of Mir Shakil –ur- Rahman on the side and conduct one hour show day after day is in my humble opinion not journalism but a ‘Witch hunt’.

In the UK; MP's are protected from civil action for slander and libel by parliamentary immunity whilst they are in the 'House'.
This protection is known as ' Parliamentary privilege'. Nevertheless there are words or phrases that are deemed inappropriate for use in the legislature whilst it is in session. This is called ‘un-parliamentary’ language.

However this Parliamentary immunity from criminal prosecution is not enjoyed by Members of Parliament for anything they say or do outside the parliament house.

I have heard Mobashar Luqman on his programme Khara Such. Regret to say that I have never seen any journalist stoop so low on his personal vendetta. Freedom of speech does not give permission to anyone to be abusive and publically insult his fellow journalists. Ansar Abbasi crossed the ‘Redline’ when he demanded resignation of the DG ISI when Hamid Mir was shot. Mubashar Luqman has been crossing ‘Redline’ for months.

My countrymen take everything to extreme. We were already a bigoted and intolerant society; now we are turning into an abusive society and justify profanity on prime time TV hiding behind ‘Freedom of speech’! No Sir, this will not do. I am all for gaging this uncouth publicity seeking impertinent pipsqueak.

.
Same hypocrites who were crying rivers about closure of GEO are now celebrating Ban on Mubashir Luqman.
I dont like Mubashir lucman but if people want naked shameless freedom of speech then this should be same for all.
