Balochistan LB Polls: Army helicopters transporting ballot papers

Official sources in the Provincial Election Commission Balochistan told APP, here on Tuesday that the Pak Army had extended its fully cooperation to the ECP in transporting ballot papers those reached from Islamabad to Quetta." Army helicopters have transported ballot papers to Dera Bugti, Washuk, Kharan, Panjgur, Kohlu, Turbat and other sensitive, far flung districts," they said.
They added that the process of distribution of ballot papers to all districts would be completed today.

QUETTA, Dec 04 (INP): Electioneering and preparation for the local bodies’ elections in Balochistan, scheduled to be held on December 07, are in full swing.
The local bodies’ polls will be held in 32 districts of the province, nine of which have been declared sensitive. The candidates are enthusiastically electioneering and posters and flags of various political parties are displayed prominently. Several election rallies have also been held in the province by the supporters of the candidates.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is also continuing with its preparations. Polling material has reached several districts in the province while lists for the deployment of staff at polling stations have been issued.

QUETTA: The Election Commission of Pakistan has warned stern action against elements trying to sabotage the process of Local Bodies’ elections scheduled from Dec 7 in Balochistan.
“Arrangements for holding local government election in Balochistan have been finalised as 50,000 personnel of law enforcement agencies have been tasked to provide security to some 3.2 million voters, 33,000 polling staff in 5718 polling stations and 11,847 polling booths,” provincial Election Commissioner Syed Sultan Bayazeed said here on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference at his office, he said that transportation of the ballet papers and other stuff for conduct of LB polls have been completed. He said that some fifty thousand security men including police, Balochistan Constabulary and Frontier Corps would perform duties on December 7, a day scheduled for holding local bodies’ polls in the province.
“Army has been asked to assist the provincial government as a quick response force,” he noted. Bayazeed emphasised that the EC was committed to hold fair and free polls in the province adding elements who tried to halt the peaceful process would be dealt in accordance with law.
