did the tank identify itself as that?

When did this happen?
Date on video shows 14th April 2018. Is that when it happened? Were there skirmishes at that time? Was it on LOC? @PanzerKiel @Primus

Baktar Shikan Strike seems to not have destroyed the tank though it does seem to have caught fire in one place. But tank 'seems to be' intact. And why does it return to the spot after leaving? What's behind that?

Skirmishes happen every year almost. There is a ceasefire currently happening since 2020 though.

As for the state of the tank, I believe @PanzerKiel has the best knowledge on this.

My question too. The anti tank hit didn’t destroy the tank. This is concerning from Pakistani perspective.

ATGM use a HEAT warhead. HEAT warheads do not always decimate the tank. They impact, detonate, projecting a molten core into the tank, which literally melts the armour away, spewing molten shrapnel into the tank (once its gone through the armour).

The times the tank explodes from an ATGM hit is mostly caused by ammo detonations.

For reference. Here is an Iranian Chieftan tank being hit and ultimately knocked out by an Iraqi ATGM.

(All crew survived. The driver was injured though)

Yes LOC. after the first hit, it tried to go to another position, but that approach was in full view of our weapons, so it came back.

Blowing it up doesn't always happen. But an ATGM hit surely rattles the crew inside and severely damages the optics outside.

Range to target and variant of BS ?

There was an opportunity of a second attempt to hit it but restraint was seen.
