. . . . .
Doesnt Bakra Eid refer to sacrificial Eid goats?

So why are there so many pics of cows for Bakra Eid?...never really understood the disconnect there...

Can someone help clarify please?
The real word in Arabic is Bakkara meaning cow.In Urdu it is gaye. Goat is Bakra. There is differnce in both words alphabetically but the sound same.
The real name is Eid ul azha,we can sacrifice cows, goats, camels

@darkinsky did the bakra mandi start already? Where you get yours from? Sourab Goth?

Now Karachi has spread far ahead of Sohrab Goth so Bakra/Gaai Mandi is more far from the city towards Hyderabad.:D When we were in Pakistan we used to buy big animal i.e Cow from Bakra/Gaai Mandi & goat from Safoora.

BTW Are you from Karachi too?

The Arabic word for Cow is Baqqara. However, the Urdu word for goat is bakra. They both sound the same, when transliterated into English, but are spelt differently in the Arabic/Persian Script.

But the q of Arabic has been turned into k in Urdu, even though Urdu has the Arabic letter q.

All halal animals can be sacrificed to the One True God, just as our Master Prophet Abraham sacrificed the Ram to God, as God replaced his noble son Ishmael with the Ram; Ishmael who was going to be sacrificed to God.

Animal sacrifice is sanctioned in Islamic law, and meat is considered the best of meals.

Are they here only to be traded? Please don't kill them

you deliberately missed the point of this thread. of course considering your other posts all over PDF

These animals are not killed. They are sacrificed to God, as God blessed us with them and their meat for nourishment.

The meat of Qurbani is full of barakah.
