Former Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) commander Baitullah Mehsud’s brother Yaqoob Khan has reportedly been shot dead by undentifeid men in Mir Ali, North Waziristan.
Local sources say that Khan’s body was recovered from a nearby field, but it is yet to be determined who is responsible for his death.
Baitullah Mehsud, Pakistan’s most dreaded Taliban leader, was killed in a drone strike in August 2009. The slain commander is responsible for numerous attacks in Pakistan over the years and is reportedly also responsible for the attack that killed late Benazir Bhutto.
Earlier this week, a key commander of the TTP, Adnan Afridi, is reported to have been shot dead by unknown persons in the Naseerabad area of Rawalpindi.
Mehsud’s loyalists control the Waziristan tribal region, while the Tariq Afridi group holds sway over Khyber Agency.

Its good they sent him where he belongs.

their religious faith takes a back seat when they are settling their old scores. it also has to do with establishing authority when a group is trying to impose it self as a top dog.

in the world of Taliban, the only way to do so is to physically eliminate others. its not clear if Baithullah's brother had any control or importance in the TTP terrorist nexus but such killings and infightings within them is actually all about power and control in those lands.
in the past it used to be drug trade , kidnapping and contract killings now there is a religious mix of that and we have TTP.

the killers can by our SSP snipers out for high value target killings, it can be the government supported tribesmen or most likely a group within TTP trying to establish itself quietly.

but one thing is clear, a terrorist’s brother is no more. I will like to know what was his involvement in the terrorism before I express my feelings about him.

I dont want to declare him guilty just by association & celebrate his death. I am different from TTP, Lashker Jhangvi & Spah Sahabah and I want to keep that distinction.

Sir, it still is a business, i.e., drug trade, kidnapping and contract killings with introduction of two more type in it, i.e., blowing infrastructure/civilians and fighting with PA (i guess you know what i mean by this)……....the only difference is justification, religious justification………and why they need this justification because nobody has asked them before about it……...I remember the way Qari Zainuddin’s family living in Abbottabad…..….before the arrival of his dead body, the family was known in town as some rich people from Peshawar side…….family members might not be involved in crimes, but they surely enjoy the privilege and the money………..but since penalty of every crime is definitely not death, we have to wait until the evidence of his involvement with TTP is not established.

seems that something is undergoing......i don't like these type of killings bcz if they are not taken by our agencies then who's behind all this? it can triger a tribes war, maybe there are some other powers who want to gain control of these areas and that is also harmfull for Pakistan.
