This week, China gave tech company Baidu, Inc., which wants to be known as

Reuters[/a]. China is looking to compete with other countries with self-driving technology, so this is an important move that indicates support for the technology at a somewhat contentious time.

.
so that means we have GPS(yankee) based self driving cars and now Baidu is doing the same. So will there be GLONASS(comrade) based self driving car as well?

.
If the self-driving car could survive Chinese traffic, it'll do fine almost anywhere else in the world.

Six years after google tesla waymo etc??

Chinese are slacking at copying now..

Correction, they started testing nine years ago in san fran.

Glad to educate you though i know beidou can be a little restrictive for you chinamen.

Google had begun testing the self-driving car project in 2009.[1] Alphabet describes Waymo as "a self-driving tech company with a mission to make it safe and easy for people and things to move around". The new company is working towards making self-driving cars available to the public soon.[2][3] The company plans that "[its] next step will be to let people trial fully self-driving cars to do everyday things like run errands or commute to work."[4]

Not bad,just 2 years later than china FAW HQ testing self driving on highway in 2007 and 2 years ealier than 国防科大HQ3 driving from changsha to wuhan on 286km highway in 2011.and four years earlier than baidu did in 2013.

But can you tell me when they will start to test in cities with a population over 20 millions like Beijing or 8 millions like New york?

By the way, will you test it in Mumbai or Dehli? I want to hear some india's self driving achievements to ensure we didn't fall behind

You are most likely the banned false-flagged Indian Takeitwithyou 's mirror account.

I do expect mods will also take care of you, a slightly more honest Indian.

@waz , @Horus , @Shotgunner51

Indians are proud of US advantages. That's one hell of an improvement in national psyche after being educated into an understanding that India's highest possible achievement (India in 2035) will be whites cleaning streets in India and driving cars.

SP12, indeed.
