that is the point... you should not be talking about budgets but about the set design, art work and technologies demonstrated ( in the film ).

below is the police vehicle shown in bladerunner ( 1982 )... which indian superhero film ( demonstration of design ) can come close to this...

my point is typical indian government or even films mentality is "throw big money and you shall arrive at new or superior techology"... that is false assumption.

bladerunner worked with much less advanced computers in 1982 than bahubali did in 2014/2015, yet bladerunner is superior to bahubali in every way.

it is ideas that matter.

we of india should learn from most of the pakistani pdf members about self-criticism and introspection... look at how they criticize the faults in their society and constantly call for improvement... they called their useless president as "zinda laash" ( the walking dead )... say that in india and you will be flooded with nationalist lawyers and right-wingers declaring you to be "anti-national" and such other sweet words... we in india are burdened with a rubbish political system and except for aap and the socialists/progressives, every one else is busy being "more indian than the other".

indians are generally touchy and quite high on nationalism, even if it means being embarrassed in front of a world audience... a few times on pdf, even i was judged first by my flags and called "indian troll" until i shut them up... you should deeply think of this.

and do read my recent thread about n.r. narayanmurthy's lament about india not producing any earth-shaking invention in 60 years.

That's why i meant, you try to pick up any thing bad news and you are no way in picture if any thing good development projects happen in india.It's like flies all around if any thing smells dirt.

Your comment like 'Indian's should like pakistani pdf members' as if you try to prove that they are good and we are bad.Good and bad every where, but you highlight good pakistani members and bad Indian members.But do not want to highlight bad pakistani members and good indian members.

please do watch great english sci-fi films like "sunshine" and "the last days on mars" which have fantastic and realistic visuals but will be produced at much lower costs relatively than this mythologic drama called "bahubali".

even "dune" and "bladerunner" made in the 80's would be many times better than "bahubali".

May be you are not proud of what the heights Indian movie has reached by making this movie Bahubali, but I am...I watch several Hollywood movies, but never thought someday I would be watching an Indian movie on this scale. It is a dream to watch Indian historical stories made with this technology, it will happen...this is just the beginning. If you are not proud of it, so be it, if you do not want to appreciate it, so be it...Hollywood is 50yrs ahead of Indian cinema, so no comparison. Will appreciate those movies too.

no, sir... budget is not the key, as i showed in my post you quoted and in ( Bahubali Breaks PK’s Day 1 Record In USA | Page 17 ).

what matters in sci-fi films is how one uses the available budget to create scientific and realistic environments, vehicles, dresses etc.

"the last days on mars", even though is a horror sci-fi, is quite realistic in acting, vehicle design, base construction and mars environment... and it was made on 10.9 million dollars, lot less than bahubali... watch that film ( posted in the linked post ) and make your own judgement.

i want to see a real sci-fi film from india... something set on mars.
