BAF Receives Advance Chinese Air Def System

 Nice looking SAMs and launch platform.

I think Bangladesh should go for joint development of a main battle tank or atleast an armoured vehicle with China. Chinese need no help but Bangladesh will definitely get some good experience.

This is an excellent news!

Asad, if you cant upload the pics...take any member's e-mail id and send it to him. They can upload it.

I would have helped but like you, i am not good with photo sharing.

Cheers!!!

There are people I know who saw the above vehicles with missiles and radars mounted. Unfortunately, none of them had cameras at hand.

I think the FM90 series is already in service with Pakistan Navy.......so Bangladesh isn't the first one.

Pakistan has received FM-90A ADS. But, BD is the 1st importing country of FM-90B, an upgraded version of 90A. Pakistan will certainly get the newer version. BD was in a dire need of this kind of system that can effectively shield the country's vital assets from being annihilated by an enemy attack.

Is the system effective against cruise missiles?

Well we need to start somewhere. We cant just buy the best SAM system now. This purchase will be the cornerstone of our air defense network. Anyway, i think this SAM system can take down aircraft such as the jaguar, mig 27 and sea harrier

India has lobbied with the GoB immediately after 1971 not to build a strong military. India also offered to take the defence responsibility of this country. Hope you will understand we cannot ask a tiger to protect a goat. This is why BD needs all kinds of defensive sytems to thwart an enemy's lust for adventures.

A war is not really necessary to intimidate a weak country. Only a little Dhamki is enough to do the trick. We do not want a weak Bangladesh that depends upon its neighbour's mercy. In reality, no country depends upon others. I do not like many of the India appeasing policies of this govt. But, it is also true that while SH is talking pleasantries to the Indian politicians, she is not taking her guard off them and is making sophisticated military purchases from China and others. Please note that BD will manufacture the FM-90B ADS in its own land under licence from China.

.

It would be great if this is true, but any reliable source about this?
