Gripen E is just as good as any F-16 and much cheaper to operate.

It also is armed with EU munitions like Meteor BVMRAAMs which means that the US cannot blackmail you too much once you have it.

US keeps best tech for planes like F-22 and it's own version of the F-35.

On paper, yes. But not a battle proven aircraft like F-16.

I am sure that Gripen E is off-limits as US wants BAF to buy US aircraft, most probably refurbished F-16s.

Such a shame as the Gripen E with Global Erieye AWACs would have been the ideal fighter/AWACs combo for BD

Can someone tell us the status of construction of new airfields to house the jet planes to be purchased? Ne purchasing may not happen before new airfields are completed. It is an easy enemy target if the planes are concentrated only in Dhaka and Cox's Bazaar airfields. I believe no new induction before these are constructed.
