BAF Buying JF-17?

US is a big provider of critical technology/ToT either directly or through Israel (given the lack of C4I within Bangladesh I suspect you have little to no idea about the magnitude of such technology as Green pine and phalcon). So mutual defense infra/logistics treaty makes a lot of sense to expand and operationalise this avenue.

So first acquire something of note (regarding BD) and then we can discuss BD signing even LEMOA-style agreements with the source countries. It certainly will not be with Pakistan or China (neither in their right mind would contemplate it with BD)...only one country is even approaching you on such in very limited fashion (and its creating the usual butthurt).

So like I said, please prove with action....rather than idle words. The evidence of the huge disparity in what you actually get on the ground compared to what you defence bigmouths here want is quite telling.....just like the disparity in what is projected for walton....compared to what it actually realises.

Bangladesh has rejected the US when it went on with the Padma Bridge project with own money..... BD has no intention of becoming a vassal of another country by signing defence deals like LEMOA.... BD has no subservient policy to achieve the geopolitical objectives of another power, especially the a declining power like the US.....

you can talk about technology all day..... plz do so.... but plz remember that technology couldn't save the US from black-white communal clash, Democrat-Republican-neocon-AltRight clash, Latin-white clash or "we are 99"-type stuff..... a nation's power never rested on technology.... if it did, then Indian wouldn't have worried about any possible infiltration in its Seven Sisters or other states....

.
Not possible with any BD govt, given the current govt would always be lurking around the corner and would spring again some point down the line.

Thats why barely anything good got done by BNP (who are supposedly more pro-pakistan, pro china and more anti-india) in defence sector. @Mohammed Khaled can fill you in about it.
That's my general perspective too... but the thing about BNP is they never cared for defence sector or any other sector for that matter... (note it's from my personal views and I do not support either political parties)

Wanting to sell off the lead ship which at those times was the most advanced in this region and the brand new migs with the excuse of not being able to care for em whilst having your son drive a BMW in bd and then rolls Royce and s classes abroad when he is not educated nor has any business to help him afford, you'll lose your credibility.

It might have been possible under dictatorship as seen previously. Bangladesh enjoyed more warm relation with nations like Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan than when under democratic rule

. .
things are not as simple as you're making it.... Bangladesh has good relations with both China and Japan.... how does that count?..... the thing is, geopolitics is a balancing act that works in favour of those who understand it more, not just those who have physical power.... if that was the case, then the UK would never have ruled the world for 200 years....
Bangladesh has no defence related business with Japan, with Japan its all about economic development, yet with china its both... one reason can be that to counter India and keep a balance between influence of external power... and countries like China or Japan rather likes to keep their mouth shut in matters of other countries policy... they rather care about their interest and how it helps them to help others.

well, to some extent you can say that.... but in the larger geopolitical game, there's no civil/military divide.... these are just geopolitical tools.... you use one here, but use the other there..... e.g. in Africa, China has only economic interests, but the US is a major competitor of China there, as China heavily depends on African raw materials to keep its economic and defence power running....

.
There is much they can afford yet China would not even think of selling them.
There is many things china doesn't want to sell to others... j-20, their carrier killer missiles, etc etc
The same goes for America
Russia on the other hand doesn't care because the what they market as latest tech is most likely not... so they need not worry, they probably already have s-500 and developing s-600 for ex. When that's complete we probably will hear about s500

And so on...

Russia has mastered the art of secrecy thanks to their soviet roots but china I don't think much... they develop their weapons on two categories, home use and for export so yeah!...

.
then I hope India won't have any issues if the two subs are seen outside the Bay of Bengal....
puny little old stuff, you know....

and I'm also sure India won't mind seeing us having joint military exercise involving those subs with neighbouring countries like Sri Lanka or Maldives....

Yeah try get them outside ganges mouth first.....they dont have anywhere near the range/endurance for exiting bay of bengal in full dive :D.

Plus first do the exercises .....instead of speculating. The RAW agents/moles on board I'm sure will give updates on how everyone else tries to stifle their laughter when they see these "submarines".

Even a MoU has created such high controversy in Bangladesh, LEMOA is simply beyond imagination.

In India it's different, the provincial states have no say in the defence matters so they are least concerned with issues like sovereignty. I think it's the nature of the federalism due to which they have no problem being subservient.

Wonder why china never taught of Afghanistan... after all it's the most resource rich country in the world

but I don't have any problems signing MOU with India as long as its compatible with our Forces Goal 2030.... BD govt achieved a strong position with India in negotiations for the first time.... this opportunity can't be missed.... its totally up to India is satisfy BD, which India is struggling to achieve.... a decade of subservient attitude under the US has made India numb when Donald Trump decided to leave Indian Ocean!!

.
It's just a f****ing waste of time. Pakistan hates us... we hate Pakistan. We hate India but we have china... if a geopolitical strategy to be pulled off... you need the big player!
Wow you are filled with so much hate man, chill out a little. BTW we don't hate you. A common Pakistani either has positive feelings towards Bengladeshis or no feelings at all, but hatred is not something we have for you guys. And this is coming from a guy whose father became a POW in 71 and spent 2 and a half years in an Indian prison.

you can dream on...... you can eat whatever you like in your dreams..... we don't mind.... we know what India is.....

Faulty supplies to troops: UN deducts Rs 338 crore from payment to India
In 2013, the UN General Assembly introduced the idea of deduction for “absent or unserviceable” equipment to underline the fact that “troops are not able to fully meet the role for which they are deployed to UN peacekeeping operations if they are not properly equipped.”

China doesn't have direct physical access into Afghanistan..... Pakistan has..... if China ever needs to work there, it needs to depend on Pakistan.... the other route is through Central Asian states.... but there are other issues there that China can't solve without the help of Pakistan....

Bangladesh will never sign any LEMOA style agreement with any country, be it China, US or India. Like it or not, you have indeed surrendered part of your sovereignty with this agreement. In Bangladesh, it's impossible.

LOL try convincing any non-BD member here that BD is sovereign to begin with lol. Remember the poll that was done and like 90% here said BD is not even a real country? Mods had to step in and close it because it was so embarrasing and pathetic for you lot (and enough of you cried about it, just like you cry about the 1971 war each frigging day here....and no one likes the constant wailing). Then a member from that "country" talking about "sovereignty"

You are welcome to restart it again to get a reality check (but of course you wont because you know the answer). :enjoy:....and you seriously expect this not to factor into Pakistan and China's considerations in defence tech export to you?

Just ask one question to anyone thats not from BD what they think of SHW (your leader)....what words immediately come to mind. :p: I am sure you know of quite a few already that are thrown around in all the BD STRONK threads about 1971 etc.

Basically no one offers you LEMOA (which is severely limited) to begin with because BD is basically a compromised, controlled and whipped country....and any crucial C4I based technology would have protected life expectancy of exactly a few hours. Then the BeeDees here like you engage in trying to paint that as being "sovereign" completely ignoring the massive Haseena elephant in the room.:victory:

Bruh the Chinese delegation is coming to offer j-10 while the news says Pakistan is asking china to only offer jf-17. Idk how much truth there is to this about Pakistan but I don't think china would offer us a jf-17

This is what pathetic source have to say which is not more worth then a toilet paper but even they mention catic and not Pak officials, i dont know how bengali writer can imagine Pakistan dictating china to not sell their own products like j-10 for the sake of joint venture with Pakistan.. Well leave it.. as i said obsessed pricks who cant think beyond Pakistan..

I really wish you guys success in J-10 but Chinese may fear you guys let Gangadeshis check their important equipment.. You have to satisfy them before any such deal,

We have nothing to convince, it's only Indians who has to convince others that their manufactured products are "usable"!

Anyway I did hit a nerve there. Apparently, the LEMOA agreement is a prove of the subservient nature of Indians. Big LOL for the Supa Pawa.
