BAE Systems looks to revive contract for supply of 145 guns to India

I have question for the Indians friends since you have the dhanush and the bharat 155-52 why should you go for something else I see india is getting advanced in military technology.

M 777 is one of a kind weapon , it cannot be compared with other guns as it is the only 155mm gun which can be carried by a heli . Its only disadvantage is its price .

well even the russian 122 can be carried by helis yes the triple 7 is 155 but the smaller caliber can do the job unless there is something else unique about the triple 7 we don't about?. if you know share please I really confused about these things

First of all it has a good range further it can be increased by using excalibur rounds (upto 60 kms )

So its the range that make the difference. how about accuracy is there any big difference as you know because the price difference so big.

plus is the indian army inducting the dhanush.

Its a combat proven gun , so there is no issue regarding the accuracy and these are specially bought for the newly raised mountain strike corps . Dhanush cant be used there due to its heavy weight .

Mate, the M-777 is specifically meant for the upcoming Mountain Corp and hence only around 145 is needed to equip them.Plus the M-777 is already a battle proven gun(tested both in Afganistan and Iraq) and it is the lightest 155*39 mm gun available in the current market, these features makes it quite unique.
On the other hand the Dhanush howitzer is nothing but an upgraded version of the FH-77 Bofors gun,the only thing DRDO did was to up gun it's caliber to 45 mm instead of the original 39,hence increasing it's range from 27 Kms to around 38 Kms.It has already passed the user trials and the Indian Army has placed an advanced order of 116 guns which will be ultimately projected to increase to 414 guns.
Plus the DRDO is already developing another 155*52 mm gun which will substitute the present 130 mm D-46 guns which forms the bulk of the current Artillery inventory:coffee:.
