very typical of Pakistan army. Getting someone else to do their job.. Untill now it was Jihadis/mujaheddin/fidayeen/'freedom fighters' doing their dirty job. Now they plan to make robots to do the same.
I hope the new outsourced recruits will not go bad as the old business partners did. The old human brainwashed poor idiots got a raw deal and turned on their masters. But the robots may take on the human race itself, like in terminator movies.

Hmmm...Interesting! Looks like your Pakistani Government is convinced that the human species currently serving in the Pakistani armed forces are totally unreliable to defend their country. So it is hoping that developing a robotic army with American help might be the right decision provided these robots don't start rusting soon like American cars.

Arjun was failed project and took 20 years to produce, HAL Ajeet got started in 1980, India failed the missile interceptor test today. Doing outsourced IT jobs at one sixth the salary of what an Americans would work for does not make India anything. India has 300 million people living in slums.

For Pakistan, the tanks Al-Khalid is in production, JF-17 is a reality and Babur cruise misille is capable of hitting an aircraft carrier. I have and I do work with many Indians and most of them are average. 6 of them actually report to me and they are the best subordinates that I ever had.

Never even heard of it, and plus we have been employing IED diffusing RC robots since the late 1980s when the Soviets were in Afghanistan. At first they were american but they are increasingly being replaced by local ones.

Pakistan among countries working on military robots

LONG BEACH: Pakistan is among the countries working on the development of military robots as robots will be armies of the future in a case of science fact catching up to fiction, a researcher told an elite TED gathering on Wednesday. “The United States is ahead in military robots, but in technology there is no such thing as a permanent advantage,” Peter Singer, who has authored books on the military said. “You have Russia, China, Pakistan and Iran working on military robots.” Singer warned that while using robots for battle saves lives of military personnel, the move has the potential to exacerbate warfare by having heartless machines do the dirty work. “We are at a point of revolution in war,” Singer said. Singer predicted US military units will be half machine, half human by 2015.
