Thanks again Leader for being so helpful. Will send you a message when i know approximately when i will arrive in Lahore. I think i will probably go straight through Quetta and on to Multan or Lahore, but thanks again! In the mean time i am keeping an eye on the security situation for backpackers, mainly in Balochistan. My Mum is freaking out a little ha!

Hello everyone, I realize this is a very old thread but there was a lot of relevant information for me and I was just wondering if the situation is still as it is described in this thread.
Me and my girlfriend are planning to travel from Nepal to the Netherlands over land and will be passing through Pakistan as well. Looking forward to see the beauty of Pakistan but we're also a little bit concerned about Balochistan. After reading through this thread I thought that maybe the best thing to do would be to first move south from Lahore to Karachi and then take the coastal road to Gwadar and enter Iran in the south towards Chabahar. Would you recommend this route or would you say that taking the regular route from Quetta to Taftan is a safer bet?
Thanks for the help
@DESERT FIGHTER Is from Baluchistan, he can tell you more about the situation there. In my view just see some historical sites in Lahore, catch a plane and leave Pakistan. I wish one day Pakistan would become peaceful. It's such a beautiful country.
You do that, no issues to worry about. Just make sure to stay in Quetta (Serena) and get the bus going to Iran.Hello everyone, I realize this is a very old thread but there was a lot of relevant information for me and I was just wondering if the situation is still as it is described in this thread.

Travel by Air in Pakistan its the most safe.Hello, i am a young Australian/Swiss Guy planning to travel overland to Pakistan from Turkey this Summer. I have read it is not safe to travel through Balochistan. Is this correct? I would only be passing through on my way to the North via Bus and train. It is very difficult to find recent information about the Situation for travellers there. Would be great to get some local opinions. Thankyou! Pat
