Its sad and sick.
i think christian world (in europe) shouldnt object a sikh man for his turban and muslim lady for her hijab and burkha, when their own ritual could kill a child..

Ask his parents, how sad is it for them.
And its sick on part of that priest ( even on objection of parents to stop it)
Worst thing is that this news would be suppressed and wont strike headlines in papers, nor would be a part of talk show.
POLICE are investigating the death of baby boy who drowned in front of his parents when a baptism in Moldova went horribly wrong.
Six week-old Laurentiu Gaydeu was dipped under the water three times as 20 members of his family looked on proudly, Pravda reported today.
However, the holy ceremony turned to horror when the priest forgot to cover the youngster's mouth as he submerged him.
Family members including Laurentiu's parents, Ludmila and Dmitry, became anxious when they noticed the baby was looking unwell.
But the priest allegedly dismissed their concerns and pushed on with the baptism in Mihaileny, a small village in the Rishcansky district of Moldova.
It soon became clear the child was showing no signs of life. Laurentiu was rushed to the hospital but medics were unable to revive him, the online Russian newspaper said.

“He dipped the baby in the water without even covering the baby's mouth with his hand to prevent him from drowning,” Mr Gaydeu said.
Police in the Eastern European country, located between Romania and Ukraine, are investigating the death on July 22.
The priest denies killing him through "reckless imprudence", Pravda said.

Ask his parents, how sad is it for them. There is nothing sad, nor sick about it. In my opionion the preist shouldn't have held the child under for so long, the best thing would be not to submerge the childs intire face, or better yet wait until the child is older.
And what do politicians choosing to outlaw burkha's have anything to do with regular Christians? Did you survey every Christian to see how they felt about the matter?
i am sure the hypocrites who blame islam for any crime muslim commit are not gonna blame Christianity now.

I think in europe the majority of Christian world is represented by politicians .. i know you would say ,there are catholics, baptist, orthodox, lutheran and so on.. But in end they all are somewhere in politics and object what i stated.

Baby drowns at baptism in Moldova | News.com.au
Yeah, but see it not gonna be thing talked about, if same kind of stupid act has been done by muslim or sikh than it would have been in talk for weeks.
Let me see if, it ever comes on Sun U.K.
The holy man is being quizzed after the baby's parents claimed he accidentally drowned their son at the ceremony.
Witnesses claim Father Valentin did not cover the six-week-old tot's mouth before immersing him in the font.
The priest denies being to blame for baby's death after the baptism in the Rascani district in north-western Moldova, Eastern Europe.
Crying
The baby's dad Dumitru Gaidau, 36, said: "We all saw it, the priest didn't put his hand over the baby's mouth to stop water going in as he should have done and as they do at every other baptism.
"We couldn't believe it that he just put his hand over his belly and over the head and submerged him three times in the water."
The baby's godmother Aliona Vacarciuc, 32, said: "The baby was crying as he went into the water.

"We couldn't believe it but we thought the priest must know what he's doing, but he didn't. When we got him back there was nothing that could be done anymore."
She said that she and the other godparents had challenged the priest and asked him: "What have you done."
She added: "He just told us that he knew better than we did what should have happened and that it was not his first baptism he was experienced and knew what to do."
Doctor Sergiu Raileanu who examined the tiny tot however, told Romania's Publica TV that his examination confirmed that the baby had drowned.
Local police said they have launched a manslaughter investigation. If found guilty, the priest faces up to three years in jail.
