Baba Guru Nanak University on cards on demands of Sikhs

That's the only parts on topic so I will entertain this only, the rest is off topic and suitable for a separate discussion and I'm sure there exist a lot of threads already where this issue would have been discussed in detail so let's try to remain on topic.
I guess they themselve don't have any idea about the university. What will be taught there? If it is just about sikhism and life of Baba Guru Nanak, then technically a few subjects can be taught at any existing university under a chair. I really don't see its scope for a university and then their population is so small..I mean mainly it would sikhs who will want to study about sikhism/guru nanak and not even all sikhs will be interested in studying it either.

Well it was you who asked for the population of Sikhs in Pakistan and then wondered if my response was accurate. I never tried to derail the topic to start with. I was just responding to your posts.

You have to understand that these hospitals are named after these people because they founded and funded them. If Sikhs want a university, they can make it privately..otherwise you will have to treat all the minorities fairly according to their proportion and they will all demand universities.

I think Indians would be more than happy to fund it, if allowed.

Knowing the population was a genuine question so to as know the scope.
The question of funding is secondary, first it is necessary to establish what is purpose and scope of this university. They can get govt help and people of Pakistan will also help them and I think Indian sikhs and also from other countries may also want to participate so funding may not be such issue at all if main question has been answered by them.

There have been nationalist movements across the subcontinent but Punjabi nationalism never transpired. Punjab is a very rich province but punjabi language for some reason has always been looked down up even by ethnic punjabis. Nor is its rich history taught in schools.

Hey don't start trolling and hate based on ethnicity. Just focus on the topic. There is already enough hate in the country.

I am now tired of Indians saying that our Hindu numbers have fallen from 23 to 2%. Hindu population in West Pakistan was 15% and this is before migrations started so it is wrong to quote the values of 1947! In 1951 the Hindu population in West Pakistan was 1.3% and today it is 1.6% which means it has grown! Hindus make up 9% of the population of Sindh. I can also quote the 1947 muslim pop. figures of west Bengal and East Punjab and compare them with today but I won't as it is wrong. Hope some sense prevails in my Indian friends!

On the tangent to the topic but a nice addition since this have been discussed on this forum somehow and I did not had any other source to verify.

There should be a one University in Pakistan for Minorities of Pakistan only (Christian, Hindu, Sikh etc)
As they can learn about their religion and can help Pakistan on different stages.

Frankly, I do not have any idea what is the specific demand on the composition of the University.

With regards to the migration, the borders were open until 1965 and the migration was taking place into late 1960s.

3% minority population is incorrect. 23% was the population but many have migrated between 1947 -1967.

What many wonder is why didn't the migration of Muslims of India to Pakistan did not take place in these 20 years. The population of Muslims in India has in fact grown since the independence.

Sind had considerable Hindu population.
According to 1951 census Hindus were 1.8% of West Pakistan
